Playa Hermosa was just what we were looking for to relax and unwind... My wife, son and I wanted to go somewhere new where we could relax when we wanted to and do fun stuff when we wanted to, and this fit the bill. It's a beautiful home just a 5 minute walk from the pool, which is right on the beach. We felt very secure with security personnel patrolling the neighborhood 24 hours a day. And the house is beautiful, very clean and seemed brand new! A large great room contains the kitchen, diining room and living room and the master bedroom had plenty of room. Two rooftop balconies provided a beautiful view of the sunset. We were there during the "green season" and were concerned that Accuweather predicted rain every day, but it was like being in Orlando in the summer: sunny when you get up and then clouds start to roll in during the mid afternoon and maybe you have a shower. It was not a big deal. And there were plenty of attractions a short drive away: my wife and son loved ths shops in Jaco (a surfing mecca), and we went to several national parks where you could walk through the rainforests and see all sorts of plant and wildlife. A couple days we just relaxed and went to the pool and read. So relaxing! And all the people, the grounds crews, the security guards were friendly. Really, all the Costa Ricans ("Ticos" they call themselves) were very friendly. The only negative thing was that groceries were more expensive than we expected, which basically meant that it made more sense to eat out rather than buy food to prepare at the house. Hey - that's not a big problem! And there were good restaurants just down the road. I would also strongly recommend a GPS with your rental car. And don't attempt to drive in the mountains at night during the rain! It was really scary! But all in all, we had a great vacation and we would heartily recommend it to our friends and family!
