This romantic, light-filled apartment combines perfect location and charming surroundings. On the fabulous Saint-Louis island, in one of the most fashionable neighborhoods in Paris, it is on a high floor above the bank (quai) of the Seine, located in an historic building. From the sixth floor [5e étage] windows, you can look over a great part of the city, encompassing Momtmartre, Centre Georges Pompidou, La Bastille...

Within a block or so you find interesting shops of all sorts, particularly high-fashion and antiques, as well as marvelous bars and restaurants in all price ranges. The Seine is at your feet, the Louvre and the historical Marais are at walking distance.

It's about a five minute walk to Notre Dame cathedral, the absolute center of Paris. The building is small, six stories tall, with one apartment to a floor. It was built around 1600. Like in most historical buildings in Ile Saint- Louis, there is no elevator, the staircase being protected by law from any modification.

Heat is individual to the apartment, and there is unlimited hot water. Radiators can be regulated in room and bathroom separately. Double-glazed windows face the river. Bathroom with shower and English-style towel warmer.

My son and I arrived for a 4 week stay. We were greeted by Aude with a big smile and an armload of fresh food to get started. To our delight, the apartment was perfect. 103 steps to get there, but truly not a big deal once the luggage was up. A beautiful 16th century building overlooking the Seine, the right bank and Pont Marie, one of the oldest bridges in Paris. The apartment is centrally located, a stones throw from the Notre Dame. Around the corner is a wonderful bakery, 2 blocks away a grocery store, just across the bridge is Pont Marie metro that leads to most everywhere, and within a block TripAdvisors #1 restaurant Le Relaise de l'ise. What else can one ask for? At night with tired feet we would sit and look out the window and watch the activity along the river. A wonderful apartment, and a wonderful city with more to see than one can handle in a month. The owners called several times to see how we were getting along, which was a nice touch. The apartment description was accurate, the photos were accurate, and the apartment was clean and well maintained.
I would recommend this flat without hesitation. When we return, we will plan to stay here again.

A perfect place to visit Paris

My wife and I have spent 4 fantastic weeks in this apartment. It is a very nice and comfortable studio in a central location and with a wonderful view. It also is quite big (measured in parisian units) and it has all the usual amenities one may need. The description and photos are an accurate description of the studio. Last but not least, although the street Saint Louis en l'Ile is quite crowded in the afternoon, there, on the Quai de Bourbon, is very quiet.
The owners, Aude and Gerard, are extremely friendly and helpful, eager to help in the easy ways of Paris. Finally, a word of advice: one has to mount 5 flight of stairs and, as it is better feel safe than sorry, avoid very heavy and/or big baggages. All in all a highly commendable apartment.
