Couldn't be better!

This little cabin is utterly charming. The private setting and cozy decor are just about perfect, and it is thoughtfully (and completely) well-equipped. It really did have everything you could possibly need.

High speed internet would make it perfect, but I'm not sure it's even available...this is a very small complaint about a place that we completely enjoyed, and will surely visit again.

Owners were friendly and great to deal with. We'd highly recommend.

This is a great place to relax and listen to the birds. The cabin is tucked away all by itself in a little cove surrounded by trees and it can feel very isolated, even though there is a main roadway and other houses less than a mile away. Sometimes we could faintly hear the cars on the highway yet I still would say that the cabin feels removed and secluded. The Cabin was very clean when we arrived with fresh towels and linens. Our time at this cabin was so relaxing, I now often find myself day dream about sitting on the porch sipping on a cold riesling listening to the birds. This cabin is a great value!

Wonderful!!!!

We all enjoyed this lovely little piece of heaven. The cabin is close to Asheville yet totally secluded. The view of the mountains and stars were breathtaking. There was so much to do around this cabin, we could have stayed for weeks. We loved the bondfire pit, hot tub, and the stream!! Inside the cabin was always toasty warm, and the music selection was ideal. Our favorite part was hearing the sounds of James Taylor while watching our little girl play on the great hard wood floors. This was our first family vacation, and it couldn't of been better! Thank you for sharing your lovely little piece of the mountains with these city folk. We'll be back!

Cabin for Thanksgiving Week

Chris A. Ft. Lauderdale
Review Submitted: December 12, 2008 Date of Stay: November 2008
Two of us stayed over the Thanksgiving weekend. The Cabin has so many attributes. It is private, cozy and quiet. The kitchen is so well equiped that we cooked an entire Thanksgiving dinner there with no want for anything! The hot tub in the winter is heavenly. The cabin has great views from the hot tub deck and the big front porch rocknig chairs. The beds are really comfortable. We had fun roasting marshmellows in the big fire pit. The cabin always had lots of hot water and the heaters get the interior nice and toasty. The cabin is the perfect distance outside of Ashville and close to many quaint towns. I am trying to find time to return!

Chestnut Cabin

My family needed a weekend to just reconnect. My 3 boys loved being boys. Playing with rocks, roasting marshmellows, going on "ghost" hunts by older buildings on and near property and having game night before going to bed. I loved the simple layout of the place which made it easy to keep track of my 2 year old. The beds were super comfy. The hot tub is very large and nice. I would not recommend going in after it was just treated, very difficult to breath (go figure). We look forward to returning again. Pete and June seem like very nice owners. Thanks for a nice little getaway.

Labor Day Weekend Getaway at Chestnut Cabin

Gigi08 Mount Pleasant, SC
Review Submitted: September 9, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
If you are looking for complete privacy this is the place for you. Chestnut cabin is small but very quaint and very comfortable. It was the perfect place for a romantic getaway with my husband. And our little dog had a nice time, too. I recommend this cabin if you are looking to get away from it all and relax. The screened in front porch with mountain views was the perfect place to curl up and read a book. The garden was beautiful and we saw many butterflies. And the hot tub was huge and a great way to end the day. We would definitely come back.

Cozy Cabin

Review Submitted: July 22, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
Ideal for a "girlfriends" or romantic getaway. This was a cozy cabin with all needed conveniences inside, and set within a beautiful garden. Its best feature was the screened in porch -- a delightful place to have morning coffee and read. It was clean and comfortable. The hot tub was a good size, easy to use, and also very clean. The immediate view was beautiful (lovely garden, rustic shed, nestled among trees), but the view of the mountains was limited (only from the front porch).

The phone line was not great, cell phones didn't work, and there was no internet, so this is a good cabin for a true getaway, but not for someone hoping to keep in contact with the office (helpful hint -- bring a calling card in case you need to make long distance calls back home, this was something we forgot to do). On the plus side, Asheville was very close and it was easy to spend the afternoon there (where one could easily get WIFI). Weaverville was close by for grocery items (Ingles was great).

This cabin might be a little cramped for two couples or a large family if they were prone to "hanging out;" it would probably be a convenient location for couples/families looking to engage in a lot of outdoor activities/visiting small towns. It was pet friendly, but beware the ticks in the grass!

Our stay @ Chestnut Cabin 6/27-7/2/08

My family really enjoyed our time at Chestnut Cabin. It was very cozy with beautiful views and gardens. Our two four legged babies loved that they got to roam around. Our 8 yr old son loved to explore the lay of the land! The only thing I can say that I didn't love were the wasps (we all got stung). But overall our stay was very relaxing and the bed in the front room was like sleeping on a cloud (I'm going to miss it)!! Thanks for letting us stay at your home!

The Perfect Getaway

My boyfriend and I traveled to Chesnut for a weekend getaway in celebration of our birthdays. The cabin itself was amazing! Everything we could have needed was already there and the little touches really bought out just how special this place was. Candles.. even in the cabinets incase you needed more... perfect. Great selection of cds and a fabulous cd player that can be heard all through the cabin to play them on. The hot tub is in a class all to it self.. it was really the size of a small pool and the best we've ever been in! Great detail was put into the bedding as well - pillow top matress covers really made for great rest! And the fireplace in view of the master really set the theme of a cabin getaway. The front porch was quite enjoyable in the early morning - cup of coffee in hand rocking in the rocking chairs staring at snow capped mountains... so serine. And private we never had another car up the road the cabin was on.
We were pleased to find Wolf Laurel Ski Resort only a very short drive away! We had a great time skiing and taking adventures around Asheville while in the moutains.. even found time to visit the Biltmore and the Biltmore Winery. All and all it was one of the best weekends away we have had. We plan to return as soon as we can and would both suggest it to anyone looking for a GREAT place to stay!
