Beautiful house and view! We loved everything about our girls trip from the house, the back deck, the beach, and shopping in town. Lunch at the Mendocino Inn was delicious. Owner very generous to rent out this beautiful home and make it feel so cozy. Great find!!! Loved everything about it!!

I recently spent a couple days here with a group of girlfriends and had the most wonderful time!! This house is perfect for groups--plenty of room in the common areas for hanging out, cooking and eating, and the bedrooms are all set away from these areas, which makes them nice and quiet. The owners of this place have thought of EVERYTHING you might possibly need for a weekend away (kitchen gadgets, cookware, fire wood, kindling, bathroom items, ipod players, movies and games, etc) and have it on hand--it was the most well-stocked house I've ever rented and my friends and I do this sort of thing frequently. Beyond how comfortable the house is, the expansive views of the ocean are spectacular and there are many decks around the house and hot tub on which to pull up a chair and enjoy it. We saw whales both mornings we were there and the sunsets were amazing. On top of how great our stay was, the owners were so easy to deal with in setting up the rental--very, very nice. I can't think of a single thing about this rental that could be improved upon. We will definitely be back.

What a great place for an unforgettable Christmas. The house really is comfortable, warm, cozy, and makes you wish you could extend your vacation a bit further. We truly enjoyed hanging in the living room area, which is conveniently located near the open kitchen, and where the wood burning fireplace invited us to roast smores, drink local Pinot Noir and hot chocolate. We certainly appreciated cooking with probably the most fantastic view of the Pacific ocean any kitchen could ever have. Another nice aspect of the house is that every bedroom has a view of the ocean. The children's bedroom, with it's three beds, worked out extremely well due to its large size, layout, views of the trees and water, and it also came with its own little wood burning furnace.
We all felt very fortunate and happy that we opted to spend the holidays near the coast and close to Mendocino, a place we are very fond of. But what really made the difference to us was the house with its wonderful views, the tranquility of the location, and that immediate sense of total connection with the surroundings which provided tons of bird watching and migrating whales.
We are all absolutely looking forward to another stay at Sea Ridge, but maybe during spring or summer to take advantage of the many rivers and creeks that are abundant in the area.

It is very difficult to put into words how wonderful our visit to Sea Ridge has been. From our first contact with JoAnn during the rental process to the end of our two weeks' stay, we have been completely satisfied and very thrilled to have had such a perfect vacation rental. We are certain we will return to Sea Ridge; the accommodations are excellent, the area is beautiful, and the experience has been truly magnificent in so many ways. After following the exact directions given to us by JoAnn and Russ, we were thrilled to drive onto Cameron Road and make the right turn at Sea Ridge's long, winding, tree-canopied driveway that led us to the house and a spectacular view of the mighty Pacific, crashing over rocks down the bluff. The wind was blowing, the sun was shining, several turkeys were waddling about the yard...we were elated! Each day, we saw deer (and the turkeys!) and many, many birds which we enjoyed feeding with the bird seed so generously supplied for us to use. We watched the spectacular sunsets as often as possible, and we never tired of their beauty as we sat in the lounge chairs positioned perfectly to catch the sun as it dipped into the horizon each night. JoAnn and Russ' house is perfect in every way for a vacation to remember. The circular driveway lends itself to easy parking for several cars. The yard has lovely trees and flowers to gaze upon. The hot tub is a real treat, located in a private setting overlooking the ocean. The decks surrounding the entire back of the house hold many deck chairs and a very nice gas grill. There is plenty of firewood and kindling that we used almost every night in the great Kiva fireplace in the living area. We used the wood stoves in the bedrooms as well, which was quite a treat for everyone. There is a coat rack in the foyer that comes in most handy, a key entry system that is easy to use, plenty of books and movies provided, and more windows that overlook the ocean than one can take in at one time! There is a phone provided for guest use (long distance, too) which was a nice touch since our cell phones through AT&T did not work in the area. There were baskets in the bathrooms with "extra supplies" that I have not seen done before at any other home we have rented. My space is limited, or I would go on and on about our wonderful stay at Sea Ridge. Let it suffice to say that we will be back; in fact, we talked of nothing else on our return trip home! What a truly perfect vacation!

You don't want to miss this one, Sea Ridge is as advertised and more! Upon our family's arrival the property was clean, the house was larger than expected, the view is exceptional and there were even some condiments in the refrigerator and pantry that came in handy(we did replace those used). In addition the closest beach is within ten minutes and the town of Mendocino is very close which has a fully stocked grocery store. While there we had the occasion to contact the owner twice with questions and both times they were readily available. These are nice people who take pride in their property as well they should with all the special touches that they make available to their guests including even a variety of games for kids, speaking of which the "kids room" in quite large with two twin beds and a queen and plenty of floor space.
Also the location was very quiet and secluded with a variety of birds to enjoy and if you were there during migration season I am sure you could spot a whale or two. Finally there are many things to do in this area but you could just stay at the property and have a wonderful time. Thanks again Russ and JoAnn for sharing your home with us.

Perfect house for groups - lots of space indoors and out so you can have some private time
as well as group time. The kitchen has everything you need to put out a great meal.
The grounds are lovely and even the hot tub has great views. Everything was impeccably clean.
The owners were very helpful and very pleasant and easy to deal with. I would definitely return
for a second (and hopefully longer!) stay.

THE BEST house on the coast! We have stayed here many times and the other reviews tell it all. We can only add that we woudn't choose any other house to enjoy.

What a lovely home you have! Our entire group of 8 (4 couples) thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sea Ridge... it's a very special house. And the view... well, what can we say except, SPECTACULAR! We had quite a treat Saturday a.m., when we all cajoled each other into getting up a 5 a.m. and were rewarded by an excellent viewing of the lunar eclipse... no fog, barely a breeze, COLD (!)... but such a memorable experience.

The dogs couldn't have been happier with all that yard space to romp in as we sipped wine and enjoyed sunsets from the deck. The hot tub is so perfectly situated, we've dubbed it "the infinity tub"... :^) We all loved how thoughtfully laid out the house was, with personal decks and views of the ocean... and loved how the hot tub was secluded behind the "tree"... really cool.

All the special little amenities you provided were wonderful, we appreciated your thoughtfulness... loved the little goodie baskets in the bathrooms, which came in especially handy one morning when my feet were icy cold and I remembered the fuzzy socks in the basket... NICE!!

The house is so well appointed, we didn't want for anything in the kitchen... and we're all foodies, great cooks... we didn't eat a meal out. Very nice!

It was the perfect place to celebrate my husband's 60th, we will definitely be back. Again, heartfelt thanks from our entire group (plus pooches!).
