Southern Charm - the name fits!

I had the pleasure of taking my wife, infant son and two couples I know with me to this beautiful property. Southern Charm was the getaway I needed from work. The property owners were responsive before we arrived and during our vacation if we needed to reach them.
The property is conveniently located near retail, restaurants and of course...the beach. They even recommended a place to snorkel in Destin that only locals know about. I was swimming in the ocean 75 yards from a school of dolphins. I'll never forget that!
The property itself had many convenient features: kitchen and large living space on the first floor; master bedroom with large private bath and balcony, 2 guest bedrooms and bath and laundry area on the 2nd and another bedroom on the 3rd floor. Lastly, don't forget about the private pool!
I vacation alot and I would highly recommend this property for families, trips for friends or a romantic getaway for a couple. Destin is beautiful and a must see for the beach lover!

Great Time, Great Location, Great Location & Owner

Our group of 7 had a wonderful time at the Southern Charm. The owners were wonderful and extremely responsive when we called them with questions. They had great suggestions for "best of Destin" as well. The house is very open, clean and works well for a group! We really did enjoy the swimming pool after our day at the beach. Biking was terrific as well. Highly recommend this place!!
Owner's Response: Super family! Yes......rent bikes, kayaks, jet-skis, or our own golf-carts to cruise around and save $$$$ on gas. We want this family back asap! Thanks!
We Loved Southern Charm

Our family of 9 spent spring break '09 in this beautiful home! We loved the pool and the fact if was close to the beach. Of course the kids loved the spiral staircase! I have to say everything is disclosed on their web page, no hidden secrets!! The owners live in town and were always there when we needed them!!! I would definately recommend Southern Charm!
Owner's Response: We live fairly close to our properties which we think is a good thing. No long-distant owners, or hard to reach, uncaring rental companies to deal with. This was a wonderful family. Looking forward to thier soon return! Thanks!

We celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary with all our children and grandchildren at Southern Charm. It was wonderful! The grandkids loved the pool and the ocean as did the adults. It was great sitting out on the balcony off the master suite each morning. All beds were comfortable; the kitchen was easy to use, and we had plenty of room for all of us to eat together. Having a washer and drier on site was helpful. With 14 of us, we did laundry every day. Not having a bathroom on the third floor was the only drawback, but we still managed well. The house was clean and comfortable. This was the first time we had tried a vacation like this. We will definitely do it again.
In addition to playing on the beach, we played golf along the coast, went deep sea fishing (the highlight of the week with Captain Ken on the "Just-B-Cause," and had an up-close-and-personal encounter with a dolphin at the Gulfarium in Ft. Walton. Our favorite restaurant was The Crab Trap.

This place was awesome. Great sized living room, awesome kitchen, great bedrooms. It is just down the road from the beach. The backyard is awesome. There is a great pool that you can swim or sit out by and large grill. The balcony off of the master bed is great for looking out at the pool too. If you are a porch person like me you'll love the large wrap around porch. It is also close to restaraunts, grocery stores, and anything else you could want. Jon and Dawn couldn't have been better people to rent from. All and all this place was great and served for an awesome location.

This is a perfect home for a quiet and restful vacation. We loved the neighborhood and the short walk to the beach. The house is decorated very well. We enjoyed the pool and the porch. We had great weather and we grilled out most nights and had dinner on the porch.
We found the shopping very convenient. We had easy access to great restrauants located on the gulf and enjoyed lunches and dinners with a great view and a gentle breeze.
The description was accurate. We liked the layout of the house, but it would have been nice to have a bedroom on the first floor. The house is not handicap accessible, but is managable for most visitors.
We would consider renting this house or one of the other houses this couple owns in the future.

Owner's Response: Sweet group! We are in the process of possibly putting a master suite on the first floor but so far the queen sleepsofa has worked. We have had handicapped people stay here......just depends on what the handicap is. Hope this crew returns! Thanks!
