Nice Stay but needs some TLC

6 adults stayed to celebrate my husbands birthday in the City. Great location, easy to catch a cab on Union. Plenty of room for 3 couples, beds were compfortable. My overall was really between good & average, I rated good because of the location, bathrooms were clean & plenty of room. Otherwise, the rating really should be average for these reasons: the property really could have been cleaned more thoroughly, carpets on the stairs was pretty dirty, lots and lots of clutter, house smelled "old" when we first arrived, cords hanging everywhere in living room, & kitchen applicances very outdated. You almost get the feeling someone lives there, but leaves when rented out? Clothes & shoes in the closets, womens shoes laid next to all doors, 2 car garage, but we only had access to one, the other side of the
garage had a car parked there? Until the house gets "freshen up" a bit, I would hold my recommendation to a friend. Even though it's in a great location, it needs a little TLC.

The house is a few short blocks from Union street which has plenty of shops and restaurants. You can easily walk to the park (7 blocks), Wharf (10), and many other 'touristy' areas. We enjoyed our stay completely. Our only issue was the neighbor mentioned we were walking up the stairs 'too loud' which was confusing.

This was a great location in a residential area, but close enough to walk down the hill to Union Street to the restaurants and shops. Also a short taxi cab ride to Fishermans Wharf, Ferry Building, etc. The property manager Carmen was very helpful with suggestions for us. It was a perfect place for us 8 women on our annual college reunion trip. We would definitely go back again.

It's our very pleasure to rent this house. The house is well equipped with almost everything you need; from small things like shampoo, toothpaste in the bathroom, catchchup, honey, spices in the kitchen to computer, internet access in the living room, detergent, washing and drying machines in the garage. Eventhough the house is dated, but it's clean and well maintained. Our kids and us are very comfortable to stay there for 3 days. Richard, the owner Richard and Carmen, the manager, are very nice and kind. The house with two car garage is a big plus. The location of the house is also convenient to go to Golden Gate bridge, Fisherman's Wharf, China town and Downtown of SF.

I would definitely recommend this house to my friends.

Great Neighborhood, safe location!

First off, let me say that Carmen (Property Manager) was fantastic!! She made sure that everything went smoothly with our stay from arrival to departure.
The house was located in a beautiful area of San Francisco. It is a short walking distance to a few great little restaurants and eateries that we loved. The Backyard Kitchen on Octavia had delicious sandwiches for lunch, Pane E Vino on Union Street had wonderful italian food. The pasta was so fresh and delicious. We ordered breakfast sandwiches out at Caffe Union (Union St.) that we enjoyed as well. There was also a Starbucks on Union.
There were tons of little boutiques and shops on Union to go browse through. The neighborhood was like an upscale area in Manhattan. It felt very safe and comfortable.
It was an easy drive to Fishermans Warf and the Golden Gate Bridge, about 10 mins.
The house itself was spacious and comfortable. We didn't do any cooking there. The kitchen was very outdated. I didn't go to San Francisco to cook though.
I would highly recommend this house for a nice family vacation!

Great location, spacious, and very helpful property manager

My family of four adults and one 2-year old stayed at the house for 5 nights. The listing accurately depicted the location and accomodation.

Highlights:
Carmen the property manager was extremally helpful with local area suggestions and in responding to our questions. She made our stay that much nicer.
Location is excellent for shopping and dining with Union street, which has excellent casual dining, coffee shops, and individual shops just a block away
Fishermans wharf was about 20 minutes walk
Safeway was about 15 minute walk. Walk down Octavia, not laguna. You do want To drive unless you have extra hands to carry the bags
Cabs were the easiest to get of anyplace in the city.
1-Negative:
Floors and carpets were not vacuumed or clean. In hindsight we should have called Carmen at the start of our stay and asked her to have these cleaned.

Great Communication with (Richard) the owner and Carmen ( Property Manager)
Carmen was very helpful with how to get around the city, Muni and Bart systems
We were in town to see Giants & A's Baseball games, visit Alcatraz, Pier , etc
The Muni bus stops are nearby, wether you are heading to the Pier or Downtown to Union Square/ Market St.
Taxi ride from house to pier 39 is $10
Union street is 1.5 blocks from house and has some good places to eat and shop.
Having the garage was great, we have a 2011 Ford Edge once we got past the garage door ( Tight Squeeze) it fit in the garage nicely and stayed there for 90% of our stay as we used local transit to get around.
House is dated, and gets noisy around 6:30am with the garbage and recycling trucks, street sweepers on various days
The blinds in the pictures don't let you block the light so the natural light comes in at dawn.
For us the house was a place to sleep between midnight and 8am before we got up and headed out the door to explore San Francisco.
We had a great time and would recommend this location to Family and Friends

Bay Area Transplants Back for a Visit

My dad, brother, husband, and I were in town for a Giants game and the U S Open and had a great visit. The house was in a great location of town, and the garage parking was such a bonus! What a great sized home in the heart of town, but it needs updating! The stove is not fully functional, as the right burners don't work, and one of the ovens doesn't work, either. But we were still able to cook breakfast each morning and cook a pizza in the small oven. We managed to catch a heat wave in June, unheard of for San Fran, so we had to open lots of windows. I found it a little odd that there were no screens on some of the windows, so we got bugs in the house. Otherwise, everything was great and if the owner fixes and/or replaces the appliances, I would stay here again without hesitation.
