Absolutely the Best

Review Submitted: September 23, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
We were so pleased to find the beautiful cabin in spotless condition (thank you, Jennifer) and yet so cozy and welcoming. There was so much to entertain us: books, videos, magazines, satellite TVs, wireless internet. But the best experience of all was rocking on the back screened porch which was up amid the green canopy. Beautiful and stress releasing. Coffee and the outdoors: it just doesn't get any better. Our hosts, Tami and Andreas, are kindness personified.

Fun Times Had By All

We stayed at Roaring Creek cabin this past summer and had a great time. The cabin was just as the owners had described and the pictures do not do it justice. It was very comfortable and clean. Our dog Millie enjoyed herself too, thank you for letting us bring her. More space for parking was all we wished for. This place is secluded but so easy to get back into town. We truly enjoyed it and all the activities around town.

Great Vacation!!!

This was a great place to unwind. We came at a perfect time for the fall colors. The screened in porch was the place for our lunches and in the mornings we enjoyed just sitting and rocking while drinking our coffee. The cabin was clean and very nicely decorated. We had everything we needed. Tami does a great job at helping us plan our vacation with all the information in their website and welcome package. We are glad we found Roaring Creek and look forward to another visit. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet and nice vacation cabin.

Rustic, Peaceful and Secluded Mountain Cabin

TC3 Atlanta, GA
Review Submitted: November 22, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
I had always wanted to stay in the mountains near Asheville, and Maggie Valley and Roaring Creek Cabin were the perfect choice for our family getaway! The cabin is beautifully maintained, even with WiFi internet access. The location, high on a moutainside, provides all the privacy and quiet you could wish for - and the views on a clear night are stunning! The cabin was immaculate, with everything we needed for cooking and entertaining and plenty of space for storage for guests. There is even a porch with expansive mountain views to enjoy meals on a warm day, or to sit quietly and enjoy a good book.

The owners were always available by telephone or email to answer questions or address any problems we had, and the check-in and check-out process was the easiest we have ever encountered, with digital electronic door locks so there was no need to obtain keys, return them, etc.

We explored the area, visiting Waynesville - which has a quaint historic city center with some great restaurants. We also explored Great Smoky Mountains National Park and other local attractions, all close by. And of course, we made a trip to Asheville and The Biltmore, which turned out to be only about a 30 minute drive.

We will DEFINITELY return again, and we're recommending this property (plus a second, much larger brand-new two-story log cabin that the same owners just built up the hill!) to all our friends and family. The beds were hotel-quality and the furniture and decorations all looked like the owners had put a great deal of time and thought into their choosing.

When traveling on a well-earned vacation, it's nice to be able to relax and feel right at home when you arrive at your destination. We felt at home immediately when we arrived, which made our vacation all the more enjoyable. Keep up the good work!

Fun and relaxation

My family and I had the pleasure of staying at Roaring Creek back on June 27, 09. We were pleased with the cleanliness of the inside and the outside of the property as well. The rooms were comfortable and the kitchen not quite large, but just perfect for our needs. The directions given to us by the owner was accurate and had no dificulty in locating the cabin. I do suggest arriving during the day until you are familiar with the area. We were pleased to find local and out of the area activities to keep us busy. You can find some mom and pop places to eat as well as larger restaurants in the area. I would recommend this cabin for those who love quiet time and spending quality time with the family. I am hoping to return next year.

Roaring Creek

Delilhah Annapolis MD
Review Submitted: October 8, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
The house was very dark. We had to turn on all the lights during the day. There was NO view. The bedrooms were hot with no air movement. The beds need to be replaced. You sleep in a hole in the center of the bed.
The photos were very deceiving.
I would not rent this house again.
Also trying to find firewood was a chore. No notes left on where to find supplies, etc.
Owner's Response: We truly enjoy knowing our guests had a good time at our cabin, and strive to improve upon honest constructive criticism in those areas we can control. Many comforts at the cabin are a result of listening to what our guests want better. Our photos are taken by us, not a service and not enhanced in any way, They are not enlightened nor eskewed to make the cabin look bigger than it is, like many we have seen.
We do not claim to have a view, in fact, both our pictures and description of the house makes no claim of such, nor would a view be possible. We value the peace and seclusion our setting offers. We are surrounded by trees all around, during the summer, the foliage is dense and beautiful. It is peaceful and allows for privacy and enjoying nature. During the winter, when all leaves are down, you can enjoy beautiful sunrises if you wake early. Given the foliage that surrounds the house for most of the year, direct sunlight not filtered through the trees comes during the late morning and early afternoon hours and it is insufficient to make the cabin hot. In fact even during the summer it gets down to the 60's every night. In spite of this, we put, 5 years ago, when we started renting it, air conditioning in the cabin, for yours and others' enjoyment. Additionally, the cabins' privacy, screened in porch and window screens lends itself to leaving your windows open and enjoying the fresh mountain air that surrounds you if you'd rather do that.
We do not claim to provide firewood, never did, never have. Our economical prices, which attract many of our guests, would not allow us to do so, so it is left to our guests. Firewood bundles are however widely available at all gas stations, convenience stores, gift shops and grocery stores and we indicated so to you when you inquired. We do provide you and all our guests with a welcome package, second to none, full of information, which includes in fact a local map, with all non touristy points of interest, like the grocery stores, hospital, movie theater, etc. Much of the info is also contained in our website, so you can plan your trip. Our beds are soft, we have a pillow top in the king bed and both beds have a feather top making the beds even softer. Most of our guests have appreciated it. We have been responsible owners of this cabin for 5 years and count well over 200 guests as our friends.

great secluded cabin getaway

Review Submitted: November 7, 2008 Date of Stay: October 2008
This was a perfect cabin for myself, my wife, and our dog to get away to for a few days. Perfect if you desire seclusion and time alone from it all. It is also in a great location in Maggie Valley, near Blue Ridge Parkway and some great hiking trails that we took advantage of.

I spent 8 days at the cabin in July 2007 and liked it so much I went back for another week in July 2008. The cabin is as pictured and very comfortable. Everything you might need is obtainable within a few miles- groceries, restaurants, WalMart, etc. I like to get away and relax now and then, and this cabin is a great place to do it.

Perfect getaway

The cabin was even better than described. The pictures do not do it justice. Immaculate interior with plenty of space. The screened porch was icing on the cake. The setting was perfect. Surrounded by trees with spectacular views. We took our dogs and they loved it. Great location as well. Only 30 minutes to Asheville. We would highly recommend this cabin to anyone who wants to get away from it all.
