Elegantly restored, this bright and charming Victorian cottage, 'The Cottage on Cottage', is nestled in the heart of town. Original architectural details and well-chosen furnishings provide for a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. This roomy two-bedroom townhouse has a well-equipped eat-in kitchen, grand parlor and spacious bathroom, a rear porch and maple-shaded front garden.

Guest Book: 'This is our 13th trip to Bar Harbor, and have stayed many places. We have walked by your cottage so many times! Personally, I've admire the beauty from outside and could not help but be curious about the inside wonders. This is a charming 'little house', and we have enjoyed sharing its ambiance. Thanks for the flowers! Our favorite things: woodwork and floors, clean, good beds and sheets, plenty of pillows, colorful kitchen, cross-ventilation with lots of windows, the furniture (livable and easy), library, choice of pictures, nice bath/ bath soap/ linens.' Perfect location!

My wife and I spent a week in the cottage for our honeymoon and it was fantastic! Just what we were looking for; a quarter mile from main street, with all the stores and restaurants you could possibly need (would recommend trying Jeannie's Great Maine Breakfast on Cottage Street). The only time we drove is when we went into Acadia National Park to enjoy the beautiful park loop.

The cottage was very cozy and quaint with just the right touches to make it feel like a home away from home. Comfy bed and couch made it a great place to come back to after being out all day. Just hanging out in the cottage was one of the highlights of our trip!

Only cons were the squeaky architects on the second floor, but it was infrequent and they were gone after 4pm each day.

We plan to go back someday and will definitely recommend it to our friends!
Recommended for:  Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Young Children
Owner's Response: We are happy to hear that the newlyweds enjoyed The Cottage on Cottage! Regarding the "squeaky architects", part of the charm of this authentic turn-of-the-century cottage are the few squeaky floorboards, but the owner/architects on the second floor try to keep it quiet!

What a wonderful week!

We started off with whale watching and were lucky enough to see eight finback whales. Hiking, fishing, dining... everything so convenient to The Cottage. We very much enjoyed staying here! The Cottage is lovely and so comfortable. All the best!

Location, location, location.

Did we mention the great location?! We walked the ocean trail to Otter Point, Summited Gorham Mountain, climbed the Precipice Trail, went sea-kayaking, took a cruise over to Baker Island, rode to the summit of Cadillac Mountain, rode the entire park loop road, and tide-pooled with a ranger. Thanks!
