Wonderful, relaxing get-away

WI Family of 4 Wisconsin
Review Submitted: April 23, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
My family of 4 met another family of 5 here for a few days in April and had a fabulous time.

The house was extremely clean and worked wonderfully for us. We cooked all our meals -- lots of great grilling on the deck! -- and the kitchen met all our needs, which is saying something. The beds were comfortable and having linens provided makes things SO much easier when coming from a long distance or on a trip with multiple stops / purposes.

The kids and adults all enjoyed ping-pong, pool and air-hockey. The game room was wonderful! I can imagine in a little warmer weather how wonderful the screen porch would be for meals, morning coffee, or just hanging out and playing games.

The owners were wonderful to work with -- I had to book last-minute due to a change in our previous plans -- and were very responsive.

Thank you for helping us have such a wonderful visit with our friends! We would definitely consider coming back!
Owner's Response: Our goal is to provide a home that is beautiful, comfortable, & relaxing. We have also designed our home to be enjoyed by adults and children alike. For that reason, we supply 3 table games and fully equip all rooms for your pleasure. We invite you to visit soon!

A Perfect Week!

Just came back from The White Lantern and miss it already! My husband , kids and I stayed at this clean un-cluttered home and had the most amazing time, barely saw the children as they were busy in the game room downstairs, never once were they bored. The amenities that the Hideout offers are fabulous, pool is clean, llfe guard on duty, staff are very friendly. It's a perfect setting, very peaceful, kids had a great time swimming in the lake that also has a lifeguard on duty. The White Lantern was a home away from home, it had everything we needed, brother-in-law and his wife and baby came mid-week to visit and with four adults and 4 children the house it did not feel crowded, can't wait to visit in the near future.

Deer and Turkeys Were a Hit

Chance0685 Owego, NY, USA
Review Submitted: August 27, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
We really enjoyed it, and my father is looking forward to
fishing at Lake Wallenpaupack next summer! The deer were hilarious--they had no fear of cars or people. We took lots of pictures--even a doe nursing twins--from about five feet away! We also watched a flock of turkeys prance through the yard on more than one occasion. It was a very comfortable house to stay in--the screened in porch was so pleasant--it made even the rainy days comfortable.

Great for families with teens

We truly enjoyed our stay at this home. We were very pleased with how clean the house was when we arrived. Our teens loved the downstairs Rec Room. They could stay up late and the grown ups never heard a peep. I really enjoyed the screened in porch. We spent alot of early mornings there and evenings also. It was a great way to enjoy the scenery without dealing with bugs!!! Diane was a pleasure to work with. I would definitely highly recommend this rental!!!

Great place to relax

Review Submitted: June 23, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
Our stay at the White Lantern was great. We had 10 people there and even though the weather wasnt the greatest our whole family had things to keep them busy. From playing ping-pong to air hockey, pool playing and just enjoying the wildlife right outside we had fun. We also did some great smallmouth bass fishing and enjoyed the warm pool. We are already talking about making another trip to your house. The house was clean and everything we read about it was there to be used. Our whole family would recommend this place to any one,,big or small family.. Thank you again for sharing it with us.
Owner's Response: So glad that you consider our home a great place to relax.

That is our plan. Relaxation and fun! Can't wait to welcome your family again!

My friends and I recently stayed at The White Lattern this past weekend. The house was beyond anything we ever expected. The game room was the pefect place for the guys to hang out while the rest of us girls got the chance to relax and get them out of our hair. The bedrooms and decor were beatiful and the fireplace added just the right touch to every night that we stayed. The kitchen had everything and anything that we needed for whatever it was we cooked, and the dishwasher saved us a ton of time on the cleaning. Since I have stayed in the Hideout since I was basically born, The White Lattern is by far one of the best houses I have had a chance to stay in. This is the perfect place for a getaway with just the family or with your friends.
Owner's Response: Thanks so much for describing the fun , comfort and relaxation that our home offered your group of 10.

We look forward to hosting your mom in a few weeks!

Great Place To Get Together

Getaway Girls New Jersey
Review Submitted: September 21, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008
We rented the house for a college friend get together for four adults (girlse weekend) and three kids...the house was great! Perfect game room downstairs to keep the kids entertained while we had some adult time upstairs to catch up. The house was very clean and well maintained and the community was very nice. Have to also say that Claws & Paws Zoo was a lot of fun.
Owner's Response: I m so glad that everyone one enjoyed our home so very much and that the Game Room entertained everyone!

Come back soon!

A nice, clean, comfy home. Me and my husband stayed there for a weekend in the fall. Went for hikes and then returned to the toasty fireplace, meals cooked on the grill and played pool, airhockey and ping pong. Would recommend to anyone with or without children. The owners were great to work with!
