At Home In Haarlem
OMG. What a find. If you want to feel what it's like to live like a local Haarlemer, call Kiki, the owner of this beautiful, quiet, traditional Dutch row house. It's located on a sweet street, less than a ten minute bike ride (Kiki provides three) to the center of the old village and the train station (if she's available she'll pick you up). You can only feel you've found your Dutch home in it's cozy living areas and bedrooms on three stories, with a pretty little kitchen and a lush courtyard, tiled in mosaic by Kiki herself. The house is also a short drive or bike ride to the beach, the dunes, and a massive forest webbed with hiking and biking trails. It's two blocks from a great grocery store, a kilometer from a movie theater and mall, and adjacent to the city's system of canals and parks and beautiful homes. Don't miss a foray to Overveen, which looks like the Beverly Hills of the area.
