Need Tender Loving Care

This rental is very roomy and lots to enjoy. Pool, fishing, easy access to many restaurants and a short walk to a beach that is also affiliated with property or a short drive to a public beach. But there are many things that are greatly in need of attention and since we were told that the week previous to our stay was for maintinence we were greatly disappointed. Our bed sheets were worn so thin there were HOLES in them, all the ceiling fans were just plain filthy, the outdoor stairwells and many other areas were in immediate need of a power washing and all the seating needs re upolstering or replacement cushions on the deck furniture.
There also were strange electrical problems such as fans or lights turning on or off during the night, a little spooky to the friends of our who experienced this in their bedrooms.
We have rented numerousr homes, even out of the country and this one ranks at the bottom of the list and we do have friends who plan to visit the Keys and we will not suggest that this be their destination.
Owner's Response: I was quite surprised when I saw this one. For the record we have BRAND new sheets in the office and it they would have mentioned any small holes in a sheet we would have just replaced the sheets on the spot. Very easy and inexpensive fix for us. They forgot to mention that we just put in a new couch and club chair on the patio of the bedroom floor just 8 weeks ago. We will look at the cusions on the patio off the family room floor and replace if needed. They also forgot to mention that a brand new refrigerator freezer was installed the week prior to their arrival. When they mentioned issues with the electric, they forgot to mention that we called (the same day) a professional electrician in to address any questions or repairs that were needed in the home. It turns out the problems they mentioned had to do with "three way" electrical switches. Which can be a little confusing at times but when the electrician explained to them the way “three way switches” operate, they seem to understand but apparently not. Basically from the bedroom “three way switches” you can turn off the balcony light but if someone else is on the balcony they could turn the light back on with the other “three way” switch on the balcony. Nothing strange here, just a convenience that we intentionally set up so you can turn on and off the balcony lights from inside the bedrooms or from the balcony. We take these comments very seriously and we are very proud of our home. All of the items they mention in this review are easily corrected with my staff or with professionals if needed. I do not believe that we deserved a 3 of 5 on this review. Please see other reviews that portray the house and the service we provide accurately.
