Bryson City Cabin Rental Photos and Description
- 2 BR, 2 BA, Sleeps 5.

If you want to be in the middle of it all, this is the place. You are a very short drive from whitewater, waterfalls, lakes, hikes, Smoky Mountains Train, swimming, boating and more. Halfway up an easy mountain and not far from the Appalachian Trail, you'll find Chalet at Sawyer Creek. There's ample room for parking, so pull right in. Enter the cabin and you'll say, 'Yes!' The cabin has great decor, comfortable furnishings, and a wonderful view from your treehouse deck. The great room has two sets of sliding glass doors going off to the deck, cathedral ceiling, lots of wood, and great ambiance. The kitchen is part of the great room, so if you're cooking, you are still in on the action. Oh, the water! Right out of the tap is blue shale mountain water. Renters bring empty water jugs to take this delicious mountain water home; it is amazing! Have dinner in the dining room or on the elevated, wrap-around deck. All you'll see is Mother Nature at her best. Down the hall is a bedroom with twin beds, and a full bath. You can put the twins together for another couple, or leave them as they are for the kids. Upstairs is a huge bedroom with king size bed and another full bath. The cabin is adorable. Furnishings are comfy and CLEAN!

If you go out on the deck, you'll have a Weber grill, eating area, lounge chairs, picnic table and hammock. Take in the glory of nature. It's so private, that if another car comes up the road, you will run to the end of the deck to see who it could possibly be,

All you need is provided. Just bring your food, clothes, and the family.

All the Things to See and Do: You are between Bryson City and Robbinsville, so a short drive will take you to the Great Smokies Railroad, whitewater rafting, zip lines, tubing at Deep Creek, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest, Cherokee, Tail of the Dragon, Fontana Dam, Blue Ridge Parkway, Cherohala Skyline, fishing on two fabulous lakes and many streams, Appalachian Trail, waterfalls, swimming, hiking, music venues, Cade's Cove, Harrah's Casino, The Biltmore House and Gardens, crafters, Tsali bike trails, and more. The Nantahala National Forest region has it all - without traffic and congestion...just Mother Nature at her best.

Places you might not have heard about: The Cherohala Skyline is like the Blue Ridge Parkway with one major difference...not so many gawking tourists or traffic. This skyline joins North Carolina with Tennessee and has some of the most beautiful, high altitude vistas in the Smokies. At the North Carolina end of the Cherohala, is the Joyce Kilmer National Forest. You can hike the many trails and visit virgin forest lands as old as the country itself. Not far from Joyce Kilmer is Lake Santeetlah, a pristine, clear mountain lake. Rent a pontoon boat and try your hand at fishing. You can tow the kids with the tube and tow rope in the basement. It's an awesome way to spend the day. If you own a motorcycle, try riding the Tail of the Dragon with more mountain curves than you can count. If you like mountain biking, Tsali, which is a few minutes away, has four awesome trails overlooking Lake Fontana. You're in a part of the Smoky Mountains that is often called North Carolina's best kept secret. Visit and you'll agree.

More Things to Do: You can hike right along the Appalachian Trail; it's a few minutes down the road. You can go whitewater rafting on the Nantahala River, Ocoee, and more. You can ride a horse along the Fontana Lake region. You can visit the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. You can tube at Deep Creek. There are waterfalls to view, and the Blue Ridge Parkway or the Cherohala Skyline are both close by. Enjoy the virgin forest at Joyce Kilmer. See Cades Cove or drive down the Meadow Road to peek in the windows of log cabins from days gone by. The Great Smokies Railroad is right in Bryson City. Hop aboard! Try a little fly fishing in the numerous streams. Rent a pontoon boat and relax on Lake Santeetlah. Drive along mountains roads to find artist galleries galore, visit an auction right out of the fifties, or discover a hidden little out-of-the-way spot all your own for a picnic in paradise. Saturday night? Go for some mountain music at the Stecoah Center. You can type in 'Mountain Cabins' on Facebook for more information. What a great vacation!

The owner of this cabin has really paid attention to detail! Warm and inviting...beautifully decorated...this cabin felt like home as soon as we arrived. You pick the type of stay you want...plenty to do in the area or a great place to relax and unwind.

The cabin is immaculate and has everything you need for your stay. The owner has thought of everything, including lists of places to visit, restaurants to dine, and places of interest. We will be back often!

For the first time me and my two sisters decided to take a vacation together. Everything was planned between the three. It was great…because we could not make a better selection.

The beautiful place, cozy with amazing scenery was the PERFECT VACATION!!!

I would like to thank Melanie and Bill for sharing their wonderful chalet with my family and me. You are great people!

We travelled to NC with my parents for about a week stay. The cabin is sits up in a "holler" and is secluded and quiet. Everything was as lovely as we had hoped. We enjoyed the fire pit and the deck quite a bit. Melanie was very helpful in making sure that we had all that we needed for a comfortable stay. She has the cabin decorated with some lovely original artwork.

The Bryson City and Robbinsville are both within a half-hour's drive. We rode the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad, visited Clingman's Dome and did some hikes (20-Mile is nice and so is the trail at Joyce Kilmer). Our default restaurant became the Stecoah Diner for good "home-cooked" food. This part of the Smokies was quiet and laid-back while we were there. We LOVED it! Bill and Melanie have a relief map of the area hanging in the dining room that proved quite useful as we kept ourselves oriented and planned our daily activities. We found a map like it for sale at the BP station on the way to Bryson City and it now hangs in our living room.

This cabin was a great place to call home while we were there. We looked forward to our quiet evenings reading and drinking hot tea. If we ever get to come back to GSM, this is the place we'll stay!
Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your wonderful review. Bill and I really love it when folks feel the way we do about this part of the Smokies. If we wanted shows, outlet malls, and traffic, we could have stayed in Florida. This area, in the middle of the Nantahala National Forest, is a gem...and a gem that isn't too well known - yet. I'm so glad you had a great time and liked our cabin.

Did not want to leave!

My husband and I had invited friends to join us on this vacation and we wanted everything to be just right! No need to worry. The location was exactly where we wanted to be, easy to find with the good directions we received, and the cabin was beautiful and neat as a pin. We had everything we needed in the kitchen to prepare our meals.
We came at this time to see the leaves in their splendor, and even with all the rain while we were there, we were not disappointed. The first day we drove down to see Dry Falls and Bridal Veil Falls, and ate a late lunch in a neat little resturant down the road. The next day we saw Fontana Lake and Dam and drove thru Joyce Kilmer Forest and then on across the Cherohala Skyway, ate lunch in Tellico Plains, visited an antique shop, saw Bald River Falls, and back across the Skyway. Beautiful!
The next day we said goodbye to our sweet little cabin and journeyed across the mountains to Pigeon Forge for a couple of shows.
All in all, a very good, but short vacation. Rent this cabin and you will not be disappointed! We will do it again! The owners were very helpful with everything we needed.
Owner's Response: Thank you soooooo much. I knew you would like the cabin! When we're there, we feel so "mountainy." It's really a happy place to spend a few days, a week, or more. Bill and I love it when people have a good time at one of our cabins. Thanks again for your sweet comments.

Perfect location for us and the kids! Close to a lot of water activities in the summer heat! It was a perfect getaway from the hustle bustle of the city. We loved the way it was decorated and it had everything that we needed. It was very clean and up to date. The owner of this property could not have been more accomodating. She was wonderful and so helpful with ideas on places to go and places to eat. All the personal touches made it very special. I call this one highly recommended!
