Does Not Disappoint

Jessiepearl Richmond, VA
Review Submitted: October 27, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
Over the years, I have stayed in a number of places in Santa Fe - some of them very expensive and all very nice. However, Casita del Sol became my favorite the minute I walked in. It balances charm with functionality and comfort. There is great attention to detail in terms of the amenities that are provided, the space is well laid out and the architecture and decor are classic and welcoming. The location is good - close to everything but quiet. The owners are great to deal with - organized, friendly and responsive. I would stay here again in a NY minute (well actually, I guess that should be a NM minute). Highly recommend it.
Owner's Response: Dear Sherry,
Wow! This is high praise indeed. Thank you so much for your kind comments and for taking the time to add them to our HomeAway listing. I know this will help others in the future who are looking for an accommodation. Hope to see you again in the future.

Kind regards, Roxanne

Delightful Casita

Robert and Eleanor Houston, TX
Review Submitted: February 4, 2009 Date of Stay: January 2009
What a delightful casita! We walked in the door and there was the wood and starter all ready to light in the kiva fireplace, just one of the many thoughtful touches provided by the owners. And there were directions for building a lasting fire. There were fresh food gifts, maps, directions and comments on restaurants, shopping, sightseeing. But the most pleasant unexpected surprise of all was hopping out of bed that first morning onto a WARM floor--I padded around in bare feet, luxuriating on the radiantly-heated floor. We walked to the Plaza, Tomasita's and other restaurants, and in general had an absolutely wonderful time. We'll be back.
Owner's Response: Many thanks for taking the time to add your comments. You know from doing your own search for a vacation rental in Santa Fe that the comments really help reassure those who are looking. Kind regards, Roxanne

We loved our extended stay in the Casita del Sol. It's decorated with charm...the amenities are lovely....the location is great-it's walking distance to the Plaza and the exciting new Railyard District,(along with the new shops and galleries, there's a first class farmer's market two days a week).....all this plus the wonderful extras Roxanne provided....what's not to love? So stay in this charming little place and go and explore Santa Fe....with its great musuems, its lovely galleries, shops and restaurants it's a wonderful city to discover.
Owner's Response: It was our pleasure having you stay at the casita. We look forward to your next visit. Roxanne

ANOTHER GREAT VISIT TO CASITA DEL SOL

RTHLTN Charleston, SC
Review Submitted: August 30, 2007 Date of Stay: July 2007
This was my second visit to Casita Del Sol in six months. My first visit was 10 days in December 2006.
After that I fell in love with both Santa Fe and the casita and returned for two months in July and August 2007.
All amenities were so complete, all I needed for my visit was my clothing.
Especially wecoming are all the fixings for a continental
breakfast the first morning.
I enjoyed a new private back patio for my breakfast each morning, as well as a shady, beautifully landscaped front patio for reading and relaxing.
The location is perfect...an easy walk to both the main
Plaza, as well as to the new Railyard Complex , the venue for several major antique and art shows,
as well as the location of many interesting shops and restaurants.
I definitely recommend the Casita for either a short visit or lengthier one. I hope to return again!

Casita del Sol, It's a Winner

JennyinSanFrancisco San Francisco, CA
Review Submitted: July 16, 2007 Date of Stay: August 2006
I've stayed at the Casita del Sol many times while on an annual vacation to Santa Fe. The description and photos of the property are absolutely accurate and you will not be disappointed if you make this your destination. It is so conveniently located to downtown Santa Fe, museums and the Guadalupe District. When you enter the gate to the courtyard, you immediately feel you've arrived in a quiet, secluded sanctuary. The property is located at the end of a quiet, dead end lane and it is absolutely quiet. Roxanne, property owner, does everything to make you feel at home. The furnishings in the casita are beautiful. The kiva, vigas, floors and adobe walls have been beautifully maintained and all other appointments are lovely. And, the place is spotless! The kitchen is well equipped and you have everything you need to cook in, if you wish. Roxanne welcomes all guests by providing milk, juice, fresh fruit, bread and a sweet treat to get your stay started. The cd/dvd, washer/dryer, internet access and other amenities described make it easy to never leave the casita. The courtyard with its lovely water fountain, bistro tables and lovely benches, is a wonderful place to enjoy breakfast or glass of wine. Roxanne has done everything to make this a truly special place. She is also very responsive if you need anything. Once I found this casita, I stopped looking and have returned every year for the past several years. It's an exceptionally quiet, charming, authentic casita in a great neighborhood. You will not be disappointed. It deserves a 10 star rating!

This is a great location for an extended stay. The fully equiped kitchen, comfortable bedding, proximity to the plaza, shopping and restaurants, and the beautiful landscaping in the patio are all part of what made the property so appealing. There is an additional small table and chairs in the back of the casita that I often used for morning coffee and the newspaper. It's an authentic adobe at a reasonable price.

The best experience

This was our 3rd visit to Santa Fe and we have always stayed in wonderful casitas, but Casita del Sol goes to the head of the class. Every detail has been addressed, and what you see in the description and pictures of this website only gives you part of the picture. We arrived too late to get breakfast items for the next morning;not to worry, Roxanne had made sure that we would have our morning goodies the next day. The decor is more than charming and feels cozy and warm like home. The location is perfect to walking everywhere, but also on a quiet culdesac street. I could go on and on, but just want to say we look forward to our next visit and staying at Casita del Sol
