Rent a rustic log cabin, off the grid, in the beautiful Adirondacks. Secluded 1 bedroom, full bath, kitchenette, eating area, fieldstone fireplace, gas lights & stove, artesian spring water. Blissfully unplugged and perfect for the person, couple or small family who is looking for something out of the ordinary.
Though the cabin is not located on the lake, but sits on 15 acres of woodland with our caretaker 2 1/2 miles away. It is 8 1/2 miles to the village of Schroon, which is located on crystal clear 9 mile lake with beautiful sandy beach. 85 miles north of Albany, NY off exit 27 on I-87N. Fall foliage is beautiful mid-September through mid-October!!
Pets are possible please inquire. No smoking, please.

Spacious and comfortable cabin

My girlfriend and I stayed at this cabin for 3 nights, and we had an amazing time! I have been in the wilderness before, but my girlfriend never. For our first in a rustic cabin with no electricity, we LOVED it. The cabin is very spacious, full of amenities, and even during cold nights the inside of the cabin stayed very warm. All lights, refrigerator, and heaters are on gas (very easy to use and safe) and the drinking water was excellent. The cabin itself is beautifully decorated. It is located 5-10 minutes from the town of Schroon, surrounded by woods. Behind the cabin, there is a grill, an area for campfires, and ample space to picnic! The fireplace inside the cabin provides a very romantic environment as well!
We highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a great getaway. The area is great for hiking, exploring the wilderness, or just staying in with great company.
We were a bit hesitant about our coming at first, but it was definitely a great decision to stay at this cabin. :)

Rustic retreat off the beaten trail in the scenic Lake Schroon area of NY State. Just what we were looking for, an inexpensive retreat, no TV, no internet, no phone, blissful solitude, quiet and no neighbors. Our dog had a great time too.
