A real find!

We stayed on an October weekend when the fall colors were grorgeous! A very special place, tucked away privately in the woods close to Sheepscot Pond (easy walk to shore and dock). We enjoyed canoeing on the lake, relaxing, and even finding some heirloom apple trees nearby, with the result being some delicious applesauce! The owner was VERY friendly, helpful, and made sure we had a great stay. Highly recommended!

We highly recommend this cabin to all those interested. There are two screened porches, great for drinking coffee (or the beverage of your choice) and listening to the sounds of the loons. It is hard to see the lake from the cabin (lots and lots of trees) but that added to the charm of seclusion. The lake was beautiful. Be careful on the path leading to the lake as it is a little steep for the feeble and elderly. Children and the physically fit (and somewhat fit) will do just fine. The driveway is off the beaten path and is about a half mile drive back from the road. You feel like you are in the wilderness. The cabin itself was clean, well kept and well stocked. I loved all the polished wood (floors, walls and ceiling). You can't help but notice the pride of ownership. There are many afghans to snuggle into on those cool evenings. For those interested in TV, please note the satellite does not pick up local stations (although there is a slightly older/fuzzier TV in the loft that does). The cabin location was ideal for us. We wanted to see as much of Maine as possible during our 6 day stay. We visited Belfast (try the restaurant at the end of Rt. 3, right on the water), Bangor, Old Town, Waterville, Augusta, Camden, Bucksport, Freeport (L.L.Bean), and our highlight - Arcadia National Park and Bar Harbor (best chowder I have ever had!). It would have been easy to spend a full day at Arcadia as well as L.L. Bean. (Maybe...just maybe... Kevin will tell you his L.L. Bean joke!) All cities mentioned previously are an easy drive from the cabin and the scenery was great. We tried to stay off the major highways and instead took the backroads which were well marked (MOST of the time!) I would definitely return and/or rent from this owner again. Enjoy your stay! We did! I am originally from Maine and wanted a true Maine experience for my family vacation. This place was great...it far exceeded our expectations. It is very clean and offers great amenities for being so secluded. The owners were very helpful and accessible for any questions we had. We spent the week floating on the pond and doing daytrips to visit family and Acadia National Park. I highly recommend this rental. The cabin is truly in a serene secluded environment. The owners have done a great job providing wonderful lodgings in such seclusion. Fishing is also great on the pond!

If you want seclusion, peace and quiet, and
gorgeous surroundings, this is the place for you.
Listen to the sounds of the woods on the screened
porch, walk down to the lake and take the canoe
out for a paddle, or skip stones onto the lake. Our
kids had a blast stuffing their faces with
blackberries along the dirt road leading to the
cabin.

We had a PERFECT vacation in this cabin; it is absolutely everything that we have been looking for and everything the posting says: complete and total privacy surrounded by lush green woods, easy access to a beautiful and tranquil lake, tastefully decorated open space with a great kitchen for cooking (especially for those coming from New York City apartments with miniscule kitchens!), screened porches to sleep outside bug-free in the cool summer nights, the fresh smell of the piney woods all around...we could go on and on!

If you are looking to get away from it all and have 100% privacy in a beautiful and comfortable nature setting, this is the cabin!!

We honeymooned at this wonderful cabin. We couldn't have picked a better place to spend this special time. It is very private and secluded - perfect for a honeymoon. We listened to the loons and owls every night. The lake is beautiful and full of small mouth bass for those of you who enjoy fishing. The cabin is very clean and well stocked and the people who own it are wonderful. We recommend this piece of heaven on Earth to anyone who is looking to get away from it all.

We loved the cabin. Thank you very
much for renting it to us. The kids
(the two who can talk) ask, "When
are we going back to Maine?" We
enjoyed the the cabin's secluded
location, the porches, the wonderful
amenities in the kitchen and the
cabin's proximity to Augusta and
Belfast (where we got a wonderful
seafood dinner). Believe it or not, we
even took a day trip to Acadia
National Park! What a first-class
vacation spot.

My wife and I had a great time up at the cabin. The cabin is in great shape, and the 2 screened in porches are perfect for sitting outside and getting serenaded by birdsong.(without the bug bites) The lake is a 30 second walk from the cabin and the public boat launch is about a 5 minute drive right up the road for those who have a larger boat or just want to use it. The loons let us get quite close to them in our kayaks. China Lake and Lake St. George are a minimal drive from the cabin for those who want variety. The area is wonderful for stress free vacationing. The Maine coast is a wonderful drive and not too far at all from the cabin. My wife and I took all the back roads so we could take in the beautiful countryside. I would definitely recommend the cabin to anyone who wants to have a nice peaceful vacation in beautiful Maine.
