I've stayed all over the Island, and I now can't imagine staying anywhere else. The property is a short walk to town (an even shorter walk to grocery and liquor stores, etc.), South and State beaches are 5 minute drives, and the property is set at the end of a quiet street. The main house is spacious, well furnished and appointed (with tasteful, seasonal decorations), and most importantly is spotless. And don't forget the great outdoor seating and shower...a Vineyard must in warm weather. Cold weather get-aways are great too...sitting by the fire in the main house and enjoying the peace and quiet of the Vineyard in winter. Best of all, your landlady Sarah is very attentive and always available to contact for questions.

There is nothing better than walking in to a comfortable home, feeling familiar with your surroundings, which allows you to be at ease, from the get go, each and every time.
I have had the opportunity to rent from sara for 15 seasons now.
Both in high season and off. There was never much ruccous with the process, and although she's there, we never see her unless we invite her over, or we notice she was there because the yard got mowed, the garden weeded, or the patio washed off, after returning from an excusion or the beach, After dark, the lights have been left on for us, this might seem like a small thing, but it's the small things which make this different from renting another home on the Vineyard, and I can attest to this for over 45 yrs. Never mind if we needed a babysitter, there was a built in one on the the property!. I have watched her over these many years, as a mother watches her own daughter, and although she has accomplished a great feat, in this short time, she has made a house a home (2 Times), and continually improves the property. You really cannot beat the location. You can walk to the Grocer in less than 3 minutes through the woods, keeping many a grandchild entertained, with DQ, and many extra's in the up town area. We have enjoyed not dealing with the parking to go down to the harborfront with all the restaurants and such.There is nothing pretentious about this situation being in downtown Edgartown. My children have grown up at Sara's House, and they and their families now rent her Guest House for themselves. It is wonderful, we spread out, are seperate and private, yet can share our vacation, cooking, activities, and more. This has been a fabulous experience with many more years to come... Before I leave this site, we recently had a wedding for which our dog was brought to the wedding for pictures, and taken back home for the duration. My Daughter is also thinking of having her wedding shower/rehearsal this next season there on her Beautiful Veranda. I cant say enough good things about this property, OR Sara.

I felt like I was both in the heart of the natural beauty of the island and at the same time I was just steps away from everything Edgartown had to offer. The home was immaculate and the furisings had the special touch of love.

From initial contact, through.. everthing was smooth, relaxed, and what a joy! It was our best vacation experience yet, Throwing a Wedding from afar, with Wedding Party, itinerary, etc... it helps having owners who are 'Connected', a simple question to a Herculean Feat, available and accessible. The comfortable home and grounds are lovely, and the location cannot be beat! The information provided made investigating the Island a breeze, Sarah's a real Pro, and a wonderful Concierge. Our Dog Lilly even joined us. Planning to return for our Anniversary, this time, too her Guest House!
