1 bedroom (double, single) and a sleeping loft (2 singles). Sleeps 5. Full bath.

St. Ann's, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. One mile from the scenic Cabot Trail, a fully equipped cottage that can sleep 5. Lake, streams, waterfall, and trails. Quiet setting within a 500 acre private nature and night sky preserve.

Organic gardens, kayak and canoe at the lake. 45 minutes from highlands National Park, near Atlantic beaches, hiking trails and golf courses.

We bought our farm in 1970 and moved to Cape Breton permanently in 1980. Our children grew up here and have settled in British Columbia, while we continue to be active in our community and on our land.

Ruth Schneider purchased this cottage in 1994

The cottage land joins our home property We bought it in 1994 to conserve the land land and watershed. Now the cottage is used by our children and their families when they visit from the west coast and by visitors who want to enjoy a natural surrounding with easy access to hiking, swimming, and other outdoor activities.

This is the only cottage on the property and it sits at the end of a private drive that curves along the trout stream. The lake is a pleasant walk away, down a path through the woods and across a meadow. Upstream is the waterfall.

A comfortable and clean cottage situated in an idyllic woodland setting. We had an "away from it all" , wilderness feeling whilst having convenient access to local amenities and the attractions of Cape Breton We were delighted to be so warmly welcomed by our hosts after coming all the way from England. We loved the trails that can be taken from the cottage through the woods to the lake and the waterfall; also the abundant wildlife. One of our highlights was kayaking and swimming in the lake with the resident beaver! We shall definitely be returning!

We just returned from Cape Breton and this quaint little cottage. It is set
back in the woods with no-one to bother you. The lake is lovely, easily marked to find with pink ribbons on the trees. You can Kayak around the lake and observe the huge beaver damn, built right at the side of the lake. The waterfall is beautiful. If the weather had co-operated I would have sat by the waterfall in the sunshine. Cottage is clean, with all the amenities you need. No TV, which means actual conversation. The hosts, Ruth and Aaron are very nice people, who have a wealth of information to share with you. The cottage is right at the start of the cabot trail. I would defintely return.
