My parents and I had the opportunity of staying at this Villa this past March. My mom and dad are in their middle to late seventies and I am in my early forties. We had never been to Galena before and wanted a nearby getaway that would be refreshing and renewing for all of us! Our unit was beautiful! Everything was very clean and the owners were more than gracious to answer the endless questions that I had! The pictures were accurate; the view was peaceful and refreshing! We never heard any noise and appreciated how it was tucked away in an area off of the road. We spent three nights here and it was so nice to be in a place of our own and to listen to the crackling of the fire as it warmed us each evening. There were so many stars in the crisp night sky that it was incredible! The owners were very accommodating with pricing and even gave us special pricing if we booked sooner rather than later. Downtown Galena was a neat place to explore. We arrived about two weeks prior to when all the hustle and bustle was to begin which was nice to be prior to the crowds visiting! Definitely look into when various places are open and when tours are actually running. We enjoyed the restaurant that was located about 5 minutes from our unit the most. It was right on the Galena River and the prime rib dinner buffet was FANTASTIC! We should have enjoyed dessert there but decided to go into town and enjoy an ice cream cone from the ice cream parlor on the main street. We did not know that the ice cream parlor closed at 5:00! Our next visit we will definitely enjoy dessert! We took an evening and traveled to Dubuque which was neat to be able to drive to within 30 minutes or less. It was cool to hit Illinois, Ohio and Wisconsin within 15 minutes of driving:) We look forward to possibly staying here again in the coming future and would definitely recommend it to friends and family members!!
