History: SweetSage Guest House is located on an historic Bitterroot ranch dating back to the 1880s. The barn outbuildings are still in use today and we invite you to tour our heritage.
Combining the elements of an historic Bitterroot ranch with a quiet private setting and all the modern comforts of home, SweetSage Guest House sits on an 80 acre homestead ranch, just a few miles west of the town of Victor and Highway 93 and less than a mile from an infrequently traveled hiking trail in Sweathouse Creek Canyon. Sweathouse Creek was named for the Salish Indian sweat lodges that dotted its banks up until the late 1880's. The ranch is certified organic and home to a variety of farm animals; horses, sheep, cashmere goats, chickens and cattle.
SweetSage Guest House is situated at the foot of the Bitterroot Mountains in the Bitterroot Valley, a beautiful 45 minute drive south from the Missoula International Airport. The Guest House is located just a few miles west of the town of Victor and Highway 93
My name is Amy Sage. I have lived on this historic homestead ranch for 17 years. I opened the first vacation rental home in the Bitterroot Valley here in 1999. I am a stay-at-home mother of three children from 7 to 15 years old. My business has grown to include the management of several vacation rentals and long term rentals while still allowing me to be home for my family.
Within five miles of the SweetSage Guest House are three different fishing/floating access sites on the Bitterroot River, and five different hiking trailheads. In winter we can cross-country ski right off the porch and up the road. In summer a hike in Sweathouse Canyon and a quick dip in the creek to cool off are some of our favorite things about this location.
