This is a late posting from february school vacation,2005, that i never got a chance to comment on like i wanted.I could not say enough good about our stay at the cottage. we had a great time and the kids hated to go home. the cottage was very nice ,the homeowners were wonderful to deal with and did everything possible to make sure all was the way it should be for the stay. The snowmobile trails were 100 ft away and groomed to perfection,ice fishing right outside your door,skiing not too far away as well.Snowmobiliers make note this is a great place to go,many day trips right from your door. Thank you for a great time and hope to do it again .The Silva family.

Our Worthley Pond Experience

There was an excessive amount of trash left by the previous tenants that was rancid smelling and contained maggots. The trash was not removed until the second day of our rental so we were unable to sit outside the first night. I was told by the owner that it was very quiet on the pond. However, she did not tell me about the campground next door where kids were riding atv's and people were up late at night partying. The outside of the house was missing siding in a couple of places and the gate to the yard had a bungy cord rather than a latch.
On the positive side, the house was clean and had everything we needed. Having linens and bedding provided was very nice. The location is great, as is the outdoor deck on the water. The downstairs sunroom was a great hangout for the four teenagers we had with us. The yard was fenced in which was great for our dog. Views were beautiful and we enjoyed kayaking every day. There were loons out every day and we even saw an eagle.

Owner's Response: The previous renter did leave an excessive amount of trash, however we provide covered trash cans, and a 4'X4'X8' Rubbermaid storage container for the trash which my cleaning crew made sure all the trash was in prior to their leaving at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.(the storage containers are in front of the home beside the garage while the outdoor space is on the side of the home on the waterfront and enclosed in a 6 foot stockade fence). We we were out of town and ran into delays, not arriving back into town until after midnight. The trash was removed from the property at 8:00 a.m. the following day.
As for issues with people staying at the campground, we leave a detailed list of instructions with each renter stating that if they have any issues they should contact us immediately. If they had issues with people staying at the campground, we were never called and therefor not given a chance to resolve the issue. In addition we rent another camp beside this one and one across the road whose beach adjoins the campground, neither of these renters had any issues with the one day delay in trash removal or excessive noise from the campers.

This has been a great family vacation spot!

My family has been going annually to the gray camp on Worthley Pondfor the past seven years. It is a great place to relax, fish, swim, have camp fires, and just plain enjoy each other's company. The house has everything we need. The changes to the sun room this year were awesome! We use the sunroom as a bedroom and the new walls and windows make it much more comfortable. All the windows can open and a great breeze can keep it cool and comfortable. The deck on the water is my favorite part- I enjoy breakfast each morning while sitting outside! The outdoor fireplace is great for camp fires several times a week! We enjoy swimming out to the rafts and using the canoe and paddle boats! We have caught some big bass in this pond! The owners are great and because they have dogs themselves, they allow pets as long as we renters are responsible. My whole family enjoys the week we spend at Worthley Pond- even my black lab! We have lots a great memories and hope to make more in the future!

The Byron family spent another wonderful week here at the cottage. The weather was beautiful and the lake (whoops) pond was even better. This has been a great vacation and we can't wait until next year. Thanks for the Jazz boat it was a blast.

We had a very enjoyable week on Worthley Pond. We took some pretty drives and great hikes but mostly just hung at the pond. We appreciated the well stocked kitchen. Very peaceful week just what we were looking for

We also had a wonderful week. It was amazing to wake up and see the water and the mountains.. to go boating & swimming whenever we wanted.. to walk around the lake and go hiking in hearby Grafton Notch and Bethel... to eat blueberry pancakes and $.25 fudge pops at the Worthley Pond Variety Store... to find a well-stocked house upon our arrival... to "camp out" in the sunroom (porch)... to cook joint meals in the kitchen and comfy livingroom chairs and just veg...... It was a very relaxing week.

We had a wonderful stay in this great house on the beautiful pond! The purple and orange sunsets were amazing were the gorgeous mountains below them. The bedroom on the main floor had a very comfortable bed as well as impressive walk-in closets(better than at our own home). The serene atmosphere was just what we needed to take a break from our hectic lives and we would definately recommend this place to others.

Thnaks for a great place for us to enjoy our wonderful family. You have done an excellent job of outfitting this place fo just about anything at all. We enjoyed the pond, the boats, the grills, the tables and chairs, the well supplied cooking facilities, and - well, everthing went great. Thanks again Mike, for mowing so we could pitch quaits. Great fun even if all my sons beat me. The beds are great too.
