Super Fewo

Holger and Eva Ebersbach / Germany
Review Submitted: June 14, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
Wir waren vom 24.05. bis 31.05. zu Gast bei Tom und Claire. Super Ferienhaus. Tolle Ausstattung. Sehr guter Service von Tom und Claire. Toller Pool, perfekter Grill. Wir haben uns rundum Wohlgefühlt. Eines der besten Ferienhäuser, welches wir in den letzten 10 Jahren gemietet haben.
Tom and Claire - thank you very much. We´ll be back.

Fantastic holiday in Crete

Review Submitted: August 10, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
We spent a week in this lovely villa and i don't think you could ask for more from a holiday setting. Lovely clean, well equipped villa in a beautiful spot with a perfect pool for everyone from a young baby through to an adult wanting to soak up some sun. Our 3 children loved it (5, 10 and 12 yrs old) swimming in the day and also in the evening as the pool is lit up.
The owners are very approachable and attentive, nothing is too much trouble. We hired a car from the local car hire firm which was really good value. It enabled us to explore
local beaches like Stavros which was clean and good for snorkelling. Had some lovely food at local tavernas. Can't recommend it enough.

Springtime trip to Crete

Welsh John Wales
Review Submitted: March 27, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2008
We stayed in Villa Maria in May 2008 and are visiting again in May 2009 - lovely time of year as it is really warm and the spring flowers are out.
The villa was well equipped and very clean - loved the outside sitting area where we had our breakfast every morning. Tom and Claire make you feel so welcome and things like the DVD's, books, beach towels, welcome pack and the tour of the area really single these villas out as something a bit special.
Went to a little beach near Stavros called Blue beach (free sunbeds!) with a Greek style taverna which is fine for lunch - think Mamma Mia without the singing - will go back there this visit.
Had a couple of lovely meals at Sunset village restaurant which is walkable from the villas (best take a torch with you at night) - try the mushroom pie - wonderful.
Suggest suitable for all ages really - good sized pool, lots of outside space with very well maintained gardens. To make the most of the area you do need a car but they are not too expensive and you will see so much more.

Owner's Response: We have some great places to eat in our immediate area and Sunset Taverna & Irene's are two of our favourites - real Greek food and well frequented by local people. Maria at Sunset taverna has even produced her own cook book - so you can try before you buy!

Brilliant Holiday

Stuart and Debbie Denmead, Hampshire
Review Submitted: September 24, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
We came on a personal recommendation only to find the holiday was better than we'd expected. The villa was a home from home but without UK weather. The villa was exceptionally well equipped and comfortable. Tom and Claire made us feel very welcome and went out of their way to ensure we had a great stay. The pool was lovely and well maintained and you can choose from the peace and quiet of this location or the bustle of nearby Chania. Lots of local beaches and some fabulous restaurants everyone was very friendly. We will definitely be back.

Superb villas - great hosts, fab holiday!

Paul and Sue Newbury, Berkshire. UK
Review Submitted: September 18, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
It's not every day you holiday somewhere and get all you're promised - but here you do, and more! Tom & Claire have thought of everything from tours of the local area, including banks, doctors etc to supplying beach towels which certainly help with the packing! They will collect you from the airport or arrange car hire at a great price. The villas are immaculate - we have now stayed in all 3 and have taken family back with us for our third consecutive year. Very peaceful location amongst olive groves but with supermarkets, restaurants and beaches all a short drive away - beaches very uncrowded with tavernas. Our teenage daughters and nephews really enjoyed the pool and the BBQ is a lovely way to end the day. What more can we say? Anything you need or directions to places of interest, Tom & Claire always happy to help. Lake Kournas is beautiful and is a great alternative from the beach - pedaloes (with sunshades) available so cheap and tavernas on hand for lunch - super!
Fabulous holiday for all the family - hope to return in a few years time for more of the same! - Enjoy!

Villa Irini

Tom and Sue Middlesex
Review Submitted: September 14, 2008 Date of Stay: July 2008
As a family of 4 - my wife and I and our 2 teenage children - we all had a great time. Tom and Claire are very welcoming - we really appreciated the personal touches eg. lift from airport, being shown round the local area, arranging car hire and food essentials supplied. Villa very well appointed and we should definitely like to stay there again.

We don't do the same place twice (normally) but...

Tony and Dee Barwell, UK
Review Submitted: September 9, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
We always avoided going to the same place twice, that was until we came, by chance, to the Olive Grove Villa's. It was Tom and Claire's first year renting them out.
Their attention to detail won us over so much so that we went back in 2007 with the whole family, 9 of us in total - from 16 to 73 years old. This year my wife and I went back for a third time - another two excellent weeks.
Chania airport is close by and well worth that bit few pounds (or Euro's) over Heraklion, and it is not too intrusive either.
There are plenty of good quality resturants near by, but you probably will need a car because it is a little out of the way, but not too much, this adds to the relaxation. But if you want to you can walk to the beach if its cool enough. The local car hire is very good and if you are disabled, like I am, the automatic car rentals are probably the best value around [europe].
The Villas are probably the best we have ever stayed in, being well appointed with all mod-cons, air conditioning in the bedrooms and best of all, for a greek island - real plumbing - if you know what I mean.
We are looking forward to going back yet again, for a forth time in 2009, you cannot get too much of a good thing! Tom and Claire offer Holiday accomadation like it should be... relaxining, with a personal touch.
My wife and I [and family] could not recommend them highly enough.

Perfect Villa

Hilscookies Leatherhead, Surrey
Review Submitted: September 9, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
A purely perfect villa with everything thoughfully provided. We rented a car with a view to touring parts of the island but ended up moving from one sunbed to an other. Just 13 minutes walk for an ice cream or icy cold beer. What more could one ask for. Tom and Claire were the perfect hosts, nothing was to much trouble. We can't wait to return.

Cretan Holiday 2008

Bob & Melanie Hazlemere, Bucks, England
Review Submitted: September 8, 2008 Date of Stay: June 2008
If you are looking for a perfect holiday, in perfect surroundings the you have found the perfect place. This holiday had everything we could wish for, the villas are superb with everything you need, they are clean, in great condition and a wonderful location. The large pool was well maintained and the BBQ area was nice for spending relaxing evenings with other guests just eating and chatting and watching the sun go down. The owners were always at hand if we needed anything and went out of their way, from the moment we arrived at the airport, to make sure that we felt welcome and relaxed. The local village had everything we needed and the restaurants were very good, especially The Sunset Bar. All of the nearby beaches were clean and safe and with good facilities. We have already recommended The Olive Grove Villas to friends and will definately be going back.
