Another Great Stay

My wife, I, and one of our kids rented this property for 2 nights right after Thanksgiving and thoroughly enjoyed the property. It's a quarter-mile to beach as the crow flies, but that was no big deal... The only drawback was the street it's on (not too nice), and there's no view. That said, we sat out in the breezeway under the main house on a perfect autumn night...

We stayed at this property July 22nd through July 31st, and we highly recommend it. The amenities are awesome, including a fully equipped kitchen, laundry facilities and a grill. The location is perfect, close to the beach and to town. Purchase shrimp from the shrimp boats at the Pt. Aransas docks, and be sure to pay a visit to the local candy shop. We hope to return very soon.

We were disappointed in the general lack of cleanliness in this property when we checked in. There was dried food stuck under the edges of the glass top kitchen table, the refrigerator top was covered in dust and stains of some unknown substance were streaked down its sides. The inside of the stove was nasty and there were cobwebs on the walls. The kitchen floor tile was sticky from something that had spilled and we found old food particles under the kitchen sink and cabinets. The exhaust vent in the bathroom was so full of dust that I doubt that it had ever been cleaned. The worst of it all was a broken box spring on one of the beds which tilted the bed to one side and it squaeked loudly ever time you moved. The air conditioner in the small bedroom also was very loud and is right next to the headboard. This house needs a thorough spring cleaning or a new housekeeper.

This is a cute, well equipped, and very clean cottage. It's only a 5-10 minute walk to the beach & close to the other parts of town, as well. We were so happy that the owners are pet-friendly because we hate to leave our loved one at home. We'll definitely be coming back in the near future!

We had a great 3 days in this vacation home. The property itself is very well furnished and maintained - and spacious...plenty of room for four of us and a dog. It is also very clean. The gas grill is a great bonus (again, it all works fine) and we really appreciated all the kitchen equipment. The owners are also very good at making you feel welcome. We'll definitely stay here again on our next visit....now if they could only add a balcony, it would be perfect!!

After staying in this cozy, clean house I refuse to stay anywhere else when I visit Port A. I love that my dogs are welcome, and there is a washer/dryer on site. When I come dragging in from the beach, I insist on laundering all of my towels, blankets etc. having a w/d makes all of the difference to me. Also, I usually stay for several days so having a full kitchen is a must. I love to cook, (especially if we are lucky enough to catch fish) so having a "real" kitchen is great. This place is stocked with all of the gadgets I have in my own kitchen, (nice pots and pans, knives, baking dishes~the whole lot) It also has a new fridge with an ice maker (awesome for filling the cooler before I jet off to the beach) It is actually in town so it is close to the grocery store, liquor store and local restaurants. I recommend this spot to all of my friends and try to make it down a couple of times a season myself. In my family we put places like this on our "repeat list". Roy is very knowledgeable about the island and always easy to deal with. You should definitely put this place on your list too.
