Just WONDERFUL!

Juli B Ft. Lauderdale, Fl
Review Submitted: June 1, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
Just returned from 5 days at the 'cabin' and it was everything as described and more. So clean! There were even a few condiments in the fridge and cabinet; ie: salt and pepper, some seasonings, and just miscellaneous stuff you'd spend a fortune on with other groceries for a stay like that. If you're going I suggest checking out the cabin first to see what's there before heading to the grocery. It was so ready for us!! And we left a nice can of beans that we didn't use in the cupboard!
The lofts were a bit tricky but my cousins managed to spend a nite up there! We're in our 50's! They made it! The deck was a favorite spot for alot of our stay just enjoying the sounds and view. We grilled out and had family over who were there for the memorial service as we were. Went running up and down the mountain a couple mornings to get my exercise in and it was awesome. Thanks for a FANTASTIC stay. Didn't want to leave and hope to return soon!! Ate twice at Green River BBQ yummy! Also spent a day in Hendersonville just walking the beautiful main street!

Beautiful, spacious - pristine condition

Saluda-bound Norfolk, MA
Review Submitted: April 28, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
Renting a vacation home sight-unseen is a daunting experience, but if you choose this gem in the wonderful town of Saluda, NC, you'll be glad you did. It's extremely well-appointed and a joy to come home to after a day of sightseeing. One word of caution however: you might end up skipping some of those "must-see" tourist attractions and opt for the pleasures of shopping and dining in charming downtown Saluda (Purple Onion restaurant is top-notch) or driving down the winding roads to the lovely town of Tryon (fabulous Arts & Crafts Center there), or maybe fishing or perhaps painting "en plein air" at the Green River. I read all the guide books and had my plan of attack, but the most relaxing and enjoyable were found close to "home". My 3 boys - ages 15, 13 and 10 loved the yard, pond and swing. When they entered the house for the first time they were thrilled! This was April school vacation week - a rode trip from Massachusetts down south. As one reviewer commented, it can be scary to climb the ladder to the lofts, but it does make a great private spot for the older kids. Choose this place and enjoy!

Fantastic - Everything you could possibly need

FlorenceSC Florence, SC
Review Submitted: November 6, 2008 Date of Stay: October 2008
We stayed here the weekend of October 17 - 19, 2008 to see the leaves change. What a great place and it feels like your at home. You just feel so at ease and comfortable. Anything you could think of needing is there besides the sheets and bath towels (and we'd rather use our own anyway). The washer and dryer allowed us to go home with no dirty laundry and the scenery was fabulous. The only down side is if you plan to use the lofts, don't be afraid to climb a steep ladder and don't be afraid of heights. Lofts are great for older kids and teens but not small kids. Saluda downtown is quaint and the hike at Pearson Falls was something to remember. The owners are great to deal with. We would definately stay again.

terrific get a way

Biker seniors Knoxville, TN
Review Submitted: September 30, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008
Four of us were attending the Gold Wing Rally in Fletcher and stayed at this lovely cabin for the weekend. The only drawback was that there was a gravel driveway, but since we had two trikes and one bike only one rider had to be very careful going in and out. The cabin was perfect! We had everything that was promised and then some. The place was spotless, homey and very comfortable. We look forward to staying there again. The kids and grandkids spent one night and loved the toys in the closet! We had plenty of room for a family breakfast together before heading home. Thanks for the great stay!

Perfect Mountain Retreat

PERRY AND CHERYL RANDLEMAN, NORTH CAROLINA
Review Submitted: September 17, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008
Our getaway to saluda was fantastic! The log cabin was exactly as described and much more. I believe the owner has been renting since '04, but the house was like brand new and spotless! We were so comfortable in every way. The location is terrific. Saluda is a beautiful little mountain town, with great restaurants such as the purple onion. Great food and service. We ordered lunch to go at the wildflower bakery and hiked to pearson's falls. It was a very easy hike and so beautiful. We visited the town of tryon, hendersonville and flat rock, where we toured carl sandburg's home and a play at the flat rock playhouse. Super fun! All of the above are a very short drive from the cabin. We also drove to asheville and visited the biltmore estate. Maybe a 30 minute drive. The location of the cabin was so convenient to so many activities. We will definitely be renting this cabin again in the future and recommend it to everyone. Just a note also to say that dealing with the owner was a breeze. Every e-mail of ours was answered immediately. No problems were encountered. This was the first time we planned a trip over the internet, sight unseen, and our experience was certainly pleasing. Thank you. Perry and cheryl

Absolutely beautiful! I took my father there for his 50th birthday, and I do believe it was the time of his life. We also enjoyed the swing and the daily dog visits. We even got a night of snow flurries. The Andos have the perfect place for a mountain stay.

We brought our five kids to show them mountains for the first time, and we were stunned at what a beautiful log home the Andos have made. It far exceeded all of our expectations. We felt immediately at home and comfortable, and there was plenty of room for all our stuff. We loved how the cabin sat on the property, high on the hill with neatly-trimmed grass all around. It was so nice that it was hard to get the kids in the van to go do things (tubing on the Green River, Biltmore Estate, hiking, etc.); all they wanted to do was swing on the awesome swing and play with Willie and Annie, two dogs who visited daily! The cabin was immaculate, and we couldn't have asked for anything better. Already we are planning our next trip here, probably next summer. Thank you, Wendy and Guy Ando, for opening your home and allowing us to share in its beauty!

We loved the beautiful cabin! What an amazing
place. The perfect vacation for our families. The
swing is wonderful. We spent lots of time on the
back deck, catching fireflies, coking out, and just
relaxing. We went on some great adventures too
including: tubing down the Green River ( in a
thunderstorm), getting wet at Sliding Rock,
picnicing at Looking glass Falls and we even went
to visit Lake Lure. It was a fabulous trip and we
hope to come again soon!
