Sea View Memories

April 18-23, 2009 Thank you Rick - We only had a short stay at "Sea View" but enjoyed every minute of it. Just waking up in the morning for the beautiful sunrises and walking the beach steps from the cottage made our stay. Must sees: Jekyll Island historical district, we walked the park and it's beautiful. St. Simons Lighthouse and the area around it. If you are a bike rider the trails that take you compleatly around Jekyll Island are fantastic. And for those who are kayakers the area offers many opportunites for a great paddle.
Places to eat: The Costal Kitchen at St. Simons Marina, wonderful food and sitting out on the deck overlooking the boats adds to the meal. Spanky's on Rt.17/Glynn Ave., good food (try the Brunswick Stew) and again great view over looking the marshes. And just for fun try the Oyster Shak on Stacy St. right across from the entrance to the FJ Torras Causeway, great for lunch and if you like oysters and shrimp this is the place (be careful of the cocktail sauce it packs a wallop). Sea View Cottage was comfortable and provided us with everything we need to relax and enjoy our stay for our Daughters graduation from the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center. This was our first visit to Costal Georgia and we hope we have the opportunity to return.
If we could offer one recommendation that would be to repair the cottage windows so the ocean breezes can flow through the house.
Wish I could add a couple of my photos, I captured some amazing memories of the sunrises, wildlife and area. If you're into photography great shots abound.
