My family and I enjoyed a wonderful two weeks at Osprey House in August 2009. While we've travelled to Florida many times, this is definitely our favourite villa and the one that we'll look for first on any future trip.
The property itself is very comfortable. We ended up being only 4 people rather than the planned for 6/7, but don't pass up this villa because you think it will be too big. The main living areas are spacious but cosy and accommodated 4 as easily as it could 10. But the things we enjoyed most were the extra long pool and the daily visits from the Sandhill Cranes who came to chat and have breakfast with us. I chose this property specifically for the conservation area that it looks out on, and we weren't disappointed! The addition of the hedging to the side of the property was an excellent idea (not planted yet in the pictures I'd seen) and gives you the feeling of seclusion. In fact if you didn't know any differently, you'd think you were alone looking out on the African savannah. Just lovely.
As for the area, I definitely preferred this to the properties I've stayed in further down toward Davenport. The 192 is packed with places to eat and shop and for me is much more enjoyable driving daily than the rather sterile Interstate (I4).
Gadget-y people take note: The other thing that was a big bonus for us (we run a software company so had to check in daily and brought our own laptops) was that the house has a fast and reliable wireless internet connection with a good strong signal in addition to the guest computer, so I was able to spend some quality time with my iphone, google maps and a bunch of newly downloaded travel apps planning the next day's outings from the patio area.
We had a wonderful time in Osprey house and hope that this is just the first stay of many.

Great Orange Tree Villa

We had stayed in Orange Tree before and knew it was a good place to stay but, with the home we'd stayed in previously unavailable this time round, Osprey House contributed to a perfect holiday. It has everything you need. Whether you're looking for a quiet or busy holiday it's an excellent base. It's the little things that make a difference such as the binoculars and book of Florida Birds; the free internet and phone. I was there for the wakeboarding and would thoroughly recommend Louise Moore based on Lake Minnehaha up the US 27 towards the 50. Google lmwakecamp. Golf at Legends was good too and we also got out to Cocoa Beach which is just over an hour's drive away and to Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, north of Cape Canaveral to see the manatees and alligators. All in all we had a great time and I am sure we'll be back. Thank you Tom and Mary for letting us stay.

Owner's Response: There are so many things to do and see in Florida. Like Mark and Lucy be sure to take full advantage of your stay and travel to some of the many Nature Reserves with all it's wildlife.
Wakeboarding is a new one for me, but with former Champions on hand to teach you it just goes to show how versatile a holiday you can have.

I have stayed at this property several times and it is definitely my preferred choice when visiting Orlando and the attractions. A well laid out property with every amenity. My favourite is the extra long pool, which you can actually swim in. The deck area is very private and overlooks a lovely conservation area. Ideally located in a quiet residential area (not overrun with other tourists) yet convenient for shopping and the attractions. Highly recommended.

my family stayed in osprey house for about 3 weeks in december 2008 which included christmas.our ages ranged from 8 months old to fifty something.we all had a wonderful time the villa was excellent,the pool and lanai was lovely and private with a lovely view over the grass and the trees in the distance and had a different look at different times of the day and night.we did see the disney fireworks at night from the poolside so that was a lovely free private show.the villa is in a nice quiet area but an easy driving distance to theme parks,shopping and lots of other interesting places like lake louisa state park.there are so many places to go but as the villa pool and games room is so good we also liked to spend quite a lot of time there.i have been to florida many times and i would recommend osprey house to first time visitors or returning visitors at any time of year.thank you for the use of your home for a wonderful family christmas. regards elizabeth mccombes scotland

Our family holiday at Osprey House was Awsome!

The villa was very easy to find using your directions, on arrival we found the house very clean well presented with lots of space. We usually stay in a hotel, but decided to opt for a villa this time, it was just great everybody having their own space and privacy. The area was very peaceful, just what was needed after a busy day. We would recommend a visit to the nearby Target store! A trip to Hoolihans for breakfast was awesome. We would definately use this villa again.

An excellent house with all the facilities we required for our 2 families. Clean and presentable throughout with added luxuries like free telephone calls to the Uk and use of the internet.
