Lovely water-view, town vacation rental

My husband and I, and our teenage son, had a great vacation in this house. We already knew Rockland, and enjoyed being able to walk to the city center, with all its restaurants, shops, and the Farnsworth Museum. We like Amalfi's for dinner, and LuLu's on Oak street for ice-cream. We drove down to Port Clyde for a wonderful sea kayak trip. The house is neat, clean, very well equipped, and cosy. The wi-fi was very handy for researching day trips, and amusing the teenager. But the back porch just keeps pulling you out to stare at the view: there's always a boat leaving or a ferry returning, or gulls flocking around a fishing boat. There's a nice little town beach just across the grass. Oh, and the weather is perfect here, too. Warm and sunny, but not humid. An excellent vacation destination for anyone who wants a relaxing and independent trip.
Owner's Response: I felt my property would be perfect for vacationers and so did this guest. Being accessible to downtown, the small beach, restaurants, museums, shopping and a great view of the harbor just add to the cozy and clean duplex for all to enjoy.

Great costal seaview duplex!

Submitted: October 25, 2012 Stayed: October 2012
My Husband and I and our two teenage kids spent a great weekend in this duplex.
Despite the rainy weekend! The kitchen is equipped with all your needs and has a great view looking out over all the boats in the harbor. You can sit at the counter in the morning having coffee and watching the fog roll in over the boats. Pretty cool!
The rest of the house was just as comfortable. Well thought out with all the amenities right down to shampoo and toothbrushes etc. (in case you forgot.)
The location is perfect from some of the great towns, Bar Harbor, Camden and of course Rockland. Not to mention of slowly making our way up the coast to visit other great coastal towns!
This is definitely a home to come back to and hopefully to spend more time.I would recommend it to everyone.
Owner's Response: Yes, Rockland is in a perfect spot to explore the coast of Maine as these guests stated, and you can also have breakfast/coffee in the kitchen or porch and just sit and look at the ocean & boats--a very relaxing way to start a day at the duplex. Even though they had a rainy week-end they still found the beauty of the fog off the water in the morning from the kitchen.

When furnishing the duplex we tried to make it comfortable for all and have added many amenities for the traveller to make packing light besides the toothbrush and shampoo. No need to pack toothpaste, razors, hand cream, shaving cream, hairdryer, mirror, soaps, detergents, k-cups for the keurig machine or paper products as well if you stay here.

Glad to hear they found the place comfortable and would recommend it to all.

Great place in Rockland Maine!!

Submitted: September 4, 2012 Stayed: August 2012
This was our first time ever using a vacation home site, they were amazing to work with. He answered all emails quickly and throughly. The place was exactly as described...but pictures does it no justice!! The place is so cutely and beautifully decorated, I hated to leave. We loved how close the home was to the water/beach, we were able to walk into town to eat and shop, about a 2-5 minute walk. It was so convienent! Sitting on the back deck for morning coffee had amazing views. The first night there we went to the restaurant around the corner (Thank you for the gift card!) and had an amazing dinner overlooking the ocean. But, one recommendation on where to eat is the restaurant on the corner of Maine and 73, it is in walking distance and has amazing food! If you get the chance try the Cod/Scallop dinner! I would also suggest you look up for fishing out of rockland ,(we found him through the harbormaster down on the docks) we went out offshore fishing and lobstering and brought home fresh lobster to cook at the condo, you won't need to buy anything at the condo, except for food! They provided everything you could think of and way more! We also, went to Camden which is about a 20 minute drive, and did a sailboat tour, we went to Boothbay about 1 hour away and did whale watching. Even drove to Portland for one day which is a 2 hour drive. They are so centrally located that you can see just about anything you want or just hang out at the house in the evening and play monolopy (we did this with our daughter everynight) I would rate this experience at a 10 out of 10, I couldn't have asked for a better place, landlord or a beautiful state to vacation in. My husband, daughter and I will be back in the future and will stay once again at this amazing place!!
Owner's Response: This guest found the state and the property just amazing on their first trip to Maine. Rockland is a town you will want to return for a vacation and happy to hear they hope to come back one day. I am glad that they found the duplex everything they had hoped it would be and then some, but the location is a real drawing point not just from the back porch but everything anyone is able to do nearby.

Rockland Harbor

My husband and I had a delightful stay. The convenience of the rec. path and walking to town was great! We found everything in order, as described. Not a big deal, but we did not realize there was no dish washer. Owner indicated he was considering adding that, so next time may be better. He was very responsive to our questions before our stay, and we experienced no problems while there. Everything was clean and well-thought out to provide an enjoyable stay. This rental was comfy for the two of us, and our daughter had her own room (single bed). If anyone else joined us, though, they would have slept on a sofa bed or futon couch.
Owner's Response: It was my hope that everyone who stayed in the duplex would enjoy their stay because of the oceanview, being able to walk to town and the practically new home furnishings and so happy to hear they had a delightful stay. With this being the first year we have had weekly rentals, we didn't know what to include but decided that next year we will add a dishwasher and have already added an air conditioner upstairs in case hot weather warrants it. Even though there are only 2 bedrooms (1 queen sized bedroom and 1 twin bedroom) if more than 3 people are there, a new sleeper sofa is in the livingroom downstairs and when purchasing it felt very comfortable to me for sleeping. It is my intention to improve the property on a yearly basis for future Summer guests.

Gorgeous condo

5 of 5

We just returned from renting this beautiful condo in Rockland, Maine. The condo is in easy walking distance to town and many restaurants are less than a two minute walk along the boardwalk. The view from the deck is outstanding! It was very relaxing to watch the sailboats playing in the harbor. You can see the water from the kitchen and upstairs loft. The layout of the unit makes it easy for everyone to have privacy and relaxation 'spots'. The most impressive thing is how well appointed it is. The owners have taking great care to pay close attention to all the details to make sure you have a wonderful vacation. Everything is in place-and is such high quality. We were greeted with a welcoming note and gift certificate to a nearby restaurant upon arrival. Let your mind rest at ease-this is the best rental deal I've seen-the value can't be beat.
Owner's Response: When my wife and I furnished and decorated the weekly rental in Rockland this year, we hoped all our guests would find the property and the coastal area truly the vacation spot in Maine to stay. We hoped the location would be a drawing attraction to the duplex but are real happy the furnishings inside are just as appealing to our guests.
