It's perfect! It has amazing views of the water and Thimble Islands. The near by restaurants are some of the best in CT! It's the perfect location for family to relax and enjoy all the seasons of CT.
The house is only steps away from Owenego Beach Club. The walk to Owenego hugs the shoreline. The family get a Membership each year to enjoy the water, activities, food, tennis and the kids love their unique playground.
We loved this house so much that I'm not sure where to begin. The house was clean, well decorated and the perfect size for my husband, me and our 2 year old. We rented this house to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary and my husband's birthday. The location was great and the morning view from the bedroom window was incredible. I was up early enough to see the sunrise both mornings, breathtaking! The house is one house away from the water and within walking districts to restaurants and a few small shops. My husband and I joked that we didn't want to give this house a good review because then the secret would be out. We have rented a few houses on Home Away, but this one is truly special. We plan on going back but we're not sure when yet. Rachel and her husband were very nice and so easy to communicate with. This house is wonderful and we 100% recommend you stay there if you have the opportunity to do so.
This is such a sweet cottage by the Long Island Sound. It was a perfect getaway from NYC for my husband and I. We love the area. Had a great New England dinner at Lenny's. The location is great for running, walking and cycling. We have been to the Thimble Islands before and now we know where we will go for future weekend getaways.
Very clean cottage- great water views and near everything. Owners were very available and helpful. Parking is easy(which can be tricky in beach areas). There is a nice patio with wonderful view of the "island" house. Deep fenced in yard, which is kid safe for playing.
The location makes for wonderful walking, biking or kids in strollers. Branford Land Trust properties are also nearby for those who like to hike.
You can take a city bus or train into New Haven, which has tons of restaurants, shops and museums. Go North up 95 and there are two outlets for shopping
We had two adults with baby in pack/play in the bedroom- there is also a couch downstairs
if you have an older child or two.
Anyway, great spot for our three
Looking for a weekend getaway from NYC, this was the perfect fit. The house is very clean and has all the staples you'd need to hang out at the beach, cook dinner at home or just relax! No need to bring anything from home. We went to the Beach Club for lunch and then a short walk to Lenny's for dinner - both easy walking distances. We also grabbed groceries at the convenience store up the street to make breakfast. No car was needed! Definitely would go again!
We loved staying at the Beach House in Branford, CT! The house is darling and the views are spectacular. We enjoyed using the Owenego Inn, beach and had wonderful lunches and dinners by the water there. Our grandchildren ages 5 and 3 stayed with us and they went to the Owenego day camp from 9am to 3pm everyday and had a ball. The location is perfect, we did not need to have a car because good restaurants and reasonable a convenience store are a short block away. I would highly recommend this charming house.
