Enjoy the view, swimming in the pool in season or just lounging in our spacious two bedroom, two bath bright, tasteful and thoroughly modern poolside duplex apartment. No details have been spared in our creation of an elegant space suitable for short or long term living. The apartment accommodates two couples or a family with older children in exceptional comfort. Our fully equipped top of the line kitchen includes a DCS 5 burner stove, Liebherr refrigeration, Bosch dishwasher and carefully selected cutlery and porcelain dinnerware. A full sized washer and drier and everything you need for an extended stay are included in a separate utility room. Lovely views over the pool to Puget Sound will enhance your stay day and night.

The apartment has every convenience including a professionally installed JBL surround sound system, 42 inch HDTV, wi-fi, and free telephones for calling in the USA. An office space is also provided and furnished with copier/scanner and fax. We provide all towels, fine linens, soaps, detergents and a half pound of fresh organic coffee beans upon your arrival. The home is equipped with hydronic heating through polished concrete floors for year round comfort. Construction quality is self evident upon arrival. Details include period wainscoting, fine custom cabinets with solid granite counter tops, custom tile in kitchen and baths and the highest quality fixtures, providing luxury that is more than just skin deep.

Local shopping includes Whole Foods, artisan bakeries, specialty shops, and all of Queen Anne's many fine stores and restaurants for fine and casual dining. Free parking is always available.

Luxuriate in beds and fine linens from Charles P. Rogers of New York. Our furnishings are of the highest quality and will enhance your stay. Our goal is to provide you with the area's finest lodging and value. You will enjoy walking out your door and taking a dip in your own private pool....with a view! Eat in, or dine al fresco at poolside.

Your home is one block from the bus line and within easy walking distance of lower and upper Queen Anne, Seattle Center, the Gates Foundation, and a short hop to South Lake Union, and all of Seattle's many attractions, while providing the ultimate in privacy and comfort in a beautiful setting.

We built this apartment for ourselves, but welcome you, our guests, to enjoy it's many charms. This property is new to the market but our pride in it will be evident as soon as you open the door. Enjoy your stay. Our goal is to make sure you come back again and again.

About Lew Barrett

Lew and Lindy Barrett have lived in Seattle since 1979 and in this home since 1984. Recently retired, we owned our own business for 32 years. Our home has been central to our lives in the city and we hope it will become so in yours as well.

Lew enjoys boating, photography, music, writing and woodworking. Lindy is a musician and artist. One of our daughters is a teacher, while the other two are working musicians, one in Nashville, the other here in Seattle.

Our 1928 architecturally significant house was deigned by Elsworth Storey, one of Seattle's most prominent architects. It has been updated and maintained with our full respect for it's heritage, while adding all of the features expected of a fully modern structure. It speaks for itself.

Heated pool in season, gourmet kitchen, hydronically heated polished concrete floors, full sized washer and drier, professional quality, sophisticated surround sound AV system and HDTV, wi-fi. Two bed and two baths, full leather headboards, the master with en-suite bathtub, using the best available fixtures and fittings. Tasteful, comfortable and handsome furniture, including heirloom quality pieces of distinction by Emeco and Schoener/Henredon.

The spacious great room with open plan to kitchen and dining areas lead to a separate office with copier/fax/scanner. Generous closets in each room including a walk-in closet in the master bedroom. Custom tile in kitchen and baths will garner the attention of those who have experience in doing the details correctly.

On demand water heaters ensure an ample supply for all needs.

Haven on the hill

Our recent stay at this property was perfect! My husband and I, and my daughter and son-in-law stayed here for a long weekend- and none of us wanted to leave! This space is beautifully decorated, the appliances are top-notch (I want to duplicate that kitchen at my home!) and the beds comfy. We enjoyed cooking meals, relaxing by the pool, walks to nearby coffee shops, restaurants, and great views of the city and the Sound. I will definitely plan another trip to Seattle so we can stay here again. Lew and Lindy are great hosts - I just can't say enough about how enjoyable and relaxing our stay was.

Queen Anne Oasis

Impeccably appointed, with a glorious eye for detail, this oasis tucked away in an urban hillside neighborhood was everything we could have wanted for a month in the winter. The Queen Anne area is conveniently located within walking distance to downtown, and in and of itself, is charming and interesting. Lew and Lindy have thought of every creature comfort, and their home provided us with every amenity. We thoroughly enjoyed their hospitality, and can't imagine a more pleasant place to stay in the heart of real Seattle. Thank you, Lew and Lindy!

Beautiful spot in a great neighborhood

We loved staying here! The apartment is so comfortable, and includes all the amenities you could ever want in a vacation spot. The owners are very nice and welcoming, and they've done everything possible to make vacationers feel at home. It was certainly a treat to be able to go for a swim, too. The Queen Anne neighborhood is a really nice area, with lots of good restaurants. We chose to walk straight up the hill and feel like we earned our dinner! Overall, a great place for a relaxing stay, and I can't recommend it enough.

Nice Apartment

The apartment was beautiful, modern and has all the amenities needed. Location does require a car. There is not much within walking distance. The view from the pool deck is very nice, however, pool water is pretty chilly. Bedrooms could use some type of fan to circulate air as the bedroom doors need to be closed for privacy. There are no window coverings in the main room/kitchen.

Owner's Response: We note to guests in our printed material that if they want the pool warmer, we will employ the solar cover. If you want water temperature above the 80 degrees we heat it to, we suggest using the cover at night or when the pool is not in use.

Regarding drapes: overwhelmingly people say they prefer an unobstructed view so that's how we furnish it. The view looking in from the pool is to the great room and not to the bedrooms. The yard is private, fenced and shaded from all outside view. Both bedrooms have opening windows which provide good ventilation. As a result of your comment, we have added fans to the apartment inventory.

It is hilly here, but there is much to walk to within just a few blocks. It does require that you be able or willing to walk uphill. Shopping is within a six block walk. For those who don't want a car and don't wish to walk, the bus stop is one block away. Unlimited free parking is always available. The neighborhood is ideal for a stroll anytime, something most of our guests positively comment on in their reviews.

No Better Place Than This In Seattle!

From the moment we stepped in the door, we could not stop gushing over how gorgeous the place is. The furnishing and appliances are top of the line and the finishings are impeccable.

We met Lew and Lindy the day after we arrived. They could not have been any nicer and their hospitality while we were there cannot be beat. Their restaurant choices were spot on. The Via Tribunali pizza was amazing and Coleen the server was awesome. The Macrina Bakery on McGraw has the best pastries I have had in years.

The beds were heavenly and the pillows too. We stayed at two other places in other towns on this trip and none of the beds compared to theirs. You have to stay just for the good night's sleep (Manny is a very welcome lovable surprise. Leave your window open. You will find out!)

We walked everywhere but just know that Seattle is a very very very challenging hilly place but their neighborhood is the best one in Seattle. Unbelievably Stunning!

I could write so much more but I want you to experience it for yourself. We have talked about Lew and Lindy's every day since we left so you know it was a very positive experience.

Stay there. No lie. It is worth it.
