Because of its location ,service, and relaxing atmosphere
I can travel anywhere there is a MELIA hotel
Hi Michelle, just to let you know we arrived back in New York today - very cold 15 degrees... We had a lovely time and enjoyed the resort - it was great for the kids too, especially the pool. Thank you! Brandan
We were met at the airport by Michelle and followed her out to the Club--she waited to be sure we had a seamless check-in, which we did. She also checked in towards the middle of our stay to be sure we were enjoying our time at Club Melia and the surrounding area. It was great to have a local contact for local references to area stores and places to visit. The property was clean and the villa stocked with everything we needed for the week. The beds were super comfortable and the view from our patio out to the pool was good with views of the ocean beyond the pool area. (We had a room on the third floor and would highly recommend this for a great view.) There was a nicely paved walking path outside of the villas that took you past the golf course in addition to two pretty well-equipped gyms on the grounds for working out inside. The staff at the VIP lounge were very patient as at times it could get pretty busy--they serve up free beverages in the VIP lounge so the wait wasn't bad. If we needed anything, we always got there early in the morning to avoid waiting. The guys in our group did an inshore fishing excursion through 787Fishing and brought the cleaned fish home for us to enjoy a meal which we were able to make in our villa. We also booked a snorkeling excursion through Tim Wallin, PR Vacation Helpers, and stopped to visit Flamenco Beach--very nice beach! The catamaran had about 50 people on it, but for some reason did not seem too overly crowded. No Regrets--well, other than the lack of WI Badger fans during the NCAA championship game!
Our stay at Club Meliá was a real pleasure. Everything was clean and in perfect condition. The club staff was very friendly and helpful and the whole resort is neat. There were also nice restaurants with delicious food. Michelle Bertrand is very friendly, attentive and helpful. Definitely, I will be calling her soon to be back in this beautiful place.
The Club Melia was an excellent choice for our family. The room was easily big enough for the four of us and we enjoyed the pools, bali beds, and hammocks. The property is absolutely beautiful and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. There is free washer and dryers on the location too. The beach is not quite what I would call swimmable - lots of vegetation and such but there are plenty of beaches east of Rio Grande that are for swimming. That didn't stop us from spending time in the ocean, it just wasn't ideal for swimming around with a nice sandy bottom etc. Overall, we enjoyed our time at Club Melia. In comparison to some of the other places to stay on this side of the island, I would say you couldn't find a better spot.
My husband, two children (6 & 8yo) and I stayed six nights at Club Melia as guests of Michelle's. She was wonderful. From before I even booked the stay, she went out of her way to answer all my questions. After we booked with her, she made sure we were taken care of and even made sure any special requests were put in with the front desk. She checked in with me to make sure we were all set and comfortable and throughout the process was delightful. We would totally book another trip with Michelle in the future.
The photos she posted were accurate and the resort was really nice. The kids couldn't get enough of the different pools and mom and dad loved the relaxing atmosphere, the contemporary design aesthetic of the room and the two hot tubs (one on the balcony!). The VIP lounge was nice with complimentary drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and having a kitchen in the unit was great. There were plenty of grocery stores nearby to get whatever we needed. They were very accommodating with our late check out since our flight didn't leave until 5pm.
This was also a great location if you want to visit El Yunque and/or fly out of Ceiba to get to Vieques or Culebra.
I found the ladies working in the VIP Lounge a bit slow and not particularly helpful, but Timothy, one of the butlers, was more than accommodating to any need we had. Housekeeping has some areas of improvement they could work on but they were minor. And lastly, I really wish the resort had a better recycling program. So much plastic ended up in the trash!
Again, we really loved it here. This was a perfect place for our family to vacation and hope to return soon! Many thanks to Michelle for making it so nice for us!
The apartments are very comfortable and pool area is beatiful. I had a great ocean view on a corner apartment for which I was very happy. Could not try the restaurants since the night we were going to dine out all the restaurants were packed and we didnt make reservations. this was actualy my foult since I thought about it but a friend that had previously stayed said I didnt need to. So, if you are going to dine out at the Hotel's restaurants make sure you make reservations, just in case. Very relaxing vacation! Enjoy.
The VIP lounge services and amenities made you feel very welcome to the Melia Club. The Melia Club is a very nice and well-kept property. A beautiful, clean, modern and well maintained villa with great view to the pool and the ocean. Excellent daily cleaning service. The use of the villa also allows the use of the adjacent Hotel Melia facilities. Most important a very pleasant and direct communication with owner. Highly recommended. We’ll be back again!
