Our first winter vacation

For years I've wanted to take my children (young men, now) on a winter vacation. We looked for the best and southernmost ski resort for our first experience, and were fortunate to find this beautiful condo near the slopes. The condo is spacious, with a beautiful cozy gas fireplace...so we did not have to go fetching for wood as some of our friends staying in other cottages did.
The kitchen is spacious and comfortable, so we were able to cooked home meals daily. Fred's store is down the hill for basic needs, but we also went to Banner Elk to the local grocery store and were able to purchase a nice roast for New Year's Eve.
Being that our sons were under age, we did not partake in the local New Year's eve festivities, but had a great time as a family, quietly in the condo.
Another key benefit for us was being able to bring our cockapoo. The condo was very clean, and our well trained doggy, felt right at home. So, no pet smells or stains anywhere :-)
We were blessed with a snow storm prior to our arrival, so all was like a winter wonderland upon our arrival. Having the majestic views of the mountains as the weather varied, gave us a picturesque view every day...we felt we were floating above the clouds, or enjoying the lights of Sugar Mountain in the evening, or the glistening sun sparkling on the iced branches.
We look forward to going again this year and highly recommend this condo to anyone wanting a quiet retreat to enjoy's God's majestic creation! :-) Bon voyage
