This newly renovated house in Harwich is fantastic. All the improvements were done with thought and executed very nicely. It has a brand new kitchen, modern appliances, new flooring, new furniture, a great sunroom/bonus room, and two brand new full bathrooms. The backyard and deck are perfect for hanging out and playing outside. The house is located at a dead-end, which means zero traffic passing by. It's about 3 blocks to Earle Street beach and an easily walkable trip at that.
Our only complaint was the lack of central AC or even window units. Going to the Cape in mid-August means a lot of humidity and heat, and it was simply uncomfortable in this house without air. We expressed this concern before we rented, but the owners let us know there were window fans in each room and ensured us the cool ocean breeze kept the house cool. Unfortunately, the fans only pushed around humid air. Though you don't spend much time in the house when you're on vacation, sleeping comfortably is a huge part of a trip and it was simply too hot to sleep. We ended up going out and buying huge floor fans for our bedrooms. Speaking to people on the Cape that week, the consensus was that it was an unusually humid summer, but even more the reason to have window units in the house!
We would definitely return to this house again but only if it is equipped with some sort of AC. Window AC units in the living room and bedrooms would make this place a MUST stay :)
Owner's Response: It was certainly an unusually hot and humid summer! Some folks asked us if they could install a window unit and we were able to work it out with them, so they could be comfortable.
