St. Augustine Beach House Rental Photos and Description

2 Bedrooms + Queen Sleeper, 3 Bathrooms, Sleeps 6 (4 Cottages in all - up to 35)

Seaside Cottage 2 - Your own private Oceanfront Cottage located just 5 minutes from Historic Downtown St Augustine on the 'Best Section' of beach. Loads of activities within walking distance. No long catwalks. No Cars allowed. Just powder white sand steps from your door. Totally renovated in 2012 with 'Top-of-the-Line' finishes . Total of 4 Cottages ranging from 1 to 5 Bedrooms. It does not get any better than this!

My goal was to create the ultimate Vacation experience for small to large groups. I wanted you to feel you were walking right into Coastal Living Magazine. Crisp White Linens. Bead board walls. Soft beach colors. I want you to tell your friends, This is your favorite place to stay (and bring them with you next year). It starts with the second story Greatroom with spectacular ocean views ...

OceanView Greatroom. To recreate the feel of a true beach house we wanted real 'Heart of Pine' floors. Here you cannot go new. You have to go old. They don’t sell the good stuff anymore. We found a mill in Georgia and had the floors made for us out of 100 yr old timbers from a building out of Nashville, TN (only 50 miles from where I grew up in Shelbyville, Walking Horse Capital of the World). Then we added a huge side picture window to enhance the view and two sets of French Doors opening out to a Covered Oceanfront Balcony with amazing Ocean Views, Breezes and Sounds. For your entertainment we added a wall mounted Big Screen TV with Comcast and Wireless Internet. Even a Streaming Video box for You Tube and Netflix (if you have an account). You can even view the family photos together on the big screen. Plus share hours of fun playing games on the large Dining Table. We provide several but I recommend Rummikub. It is our family favorite and can be played from 8 to 88. It is a game you actually have to think and I hope it will become a tradition in your family too and make you think or your stay in St Augustine. There a are 2 bedrooms downstairs with private baths but if you need more space the leather sofa folds out into a very comfortable Queen Sleeper with access to a Full Bath by the Kitchen .

Gourmet Kitchen. We had the kitchen custom made. Lots of glass doors so you could find things, even bead board inside to give it that “Beachy” look. And “white granite” counters. It is in all the magazines, so I had to have it, but can't tell you how hard it was to find. The stainless appliances feature the new French door refrigerator. a convection Smooth Top Stove with 2 ovens so you can cook 'two things at once' & the quietest dishwasher I have ever heard. It is fully equipped with Pottery Barn dishes and glasses and all the pot, pans and utensils you'll need to create a gourmet meal. You will enjoy cooking so much and you may save enough money to stay another night! We hope so.

Two Bedrooms with Private Baths. The Bedrooms are both downstairs. Here we used a cool, soft grey marble. The most beautiful stone I've ever seen. I had the beds custom built with Reading Sconces on each side for those who love reading in bed. There are Pottery Barn Curtains and French Doors leading out to an ocean-side paver patio with Table for morning coffee or 'more games'. Both have 42” wall mounted TVs and wireless internet.

Private Baths. Both bedrooms have new, private bathrooms. One with a large 6’ shower and 2 shower heads. The other with dramatically lit 'Jetted' Garden Tub and separate “Rainhead” Shower.

Outside. In back is a huge paver patio with BQ, dining table and chairs. It is a combo grill for both gas or charcoal since we did not know which you would prefer. Also an outdoor shower with hot and cold water when returning from the beach. Chairs and Boodie Boards provided as well as both Bath and Beach towels. There is a shared Laundry. Parking for 2 cars.

Remember, if you need more space, or less, there are 4 Cottages in all:

COTTAGE #1 has 6 Bedrooms + 3 Sleeper Sofas & 5 Baths (Seeps 6-19)

COTTAGE #2 (Described here) has 2 Bedrooms + 1 Sleeper Sofas & 2 Baths (Seeps 4-6)

COTTAGE #3  is a 2 Bedroom +1 Sleeper Sofa & 2 Baths (Sleeps 4-6)

COTTAGE #4 is a 1 Bedroom +1 Sleeper Sofa & 1.5 Bath Sleeps 2-4)

Total is 35.

Now to the Beach and why I call it the 'Best Beach'. You need to do your research here. There is a tremendous difference in the beaches and only 18 streets of what most people  agree is the Best section of Beach where we are located. Why? I have 5 reasons...

BEST BEACH. There are 4 distinct Beaches in St Augustine.  Be sure and find out “where” your beach house is located before you book.

First is the SAND.  The sand is like powder, not coarse ground up shells like Vilano to the northo. This is the white powder you are looking for.  Great for drip castles!

Second, at OCEAN IS RIGHT AT YOUR DOOR STEP.  There is no long raised boardwalk like further south along Atlantic View with a 5 minute walk across the dunes to navigate with the cooler & chairs before you ever get to the water.  Here the ocean and the VIEW is steps from your door.  Be careful. There are some “beachfront” homes that are so “far from the beach” because of the sand dunes that you can hardly “see” the ocean.

Third, there are NO CARS.  This is a major distinction.  Everything south of A Street has Cars. Imagine trying to play paddle ball or throwing football with cars continually passing by & having to be on constant baby alert. Not while you are on vacation!

Fourth, the beach is WIDE with GREAT WAVES - Some beaches in Vilano to the north are narrow & steep, some even with rocks.  The slope of the beach affects the waves.  They break so close in you can't boogey board. The locals consider this the BEST SURFING around. There's a friendly Surf shop with lessons & rentals right down the street on 1st Lane if you have some adventurous ones. The rest will have plenty of fun with the boogey boards provided by Seaside Cottages free of charge.

Last, the beach is within WALKING DISTANCE of loads of activities and restaurants.  Many beaches both north and south are so isolated you have a long drive to get to anything.  Not here. It is so nice to be able to walk over to a restaurant for breakfast or send the kids out for Ice Cream Cones. There is a park nearby with Tennis and a YMCA for swimming or workout. Even a funky BQ restaurant with live music where you can have a drink and watch your little ones play in the POOL.  But better yet is the Pier.  Located within walking distance they have a new Spash Pool the kids will love plus Beach Volleyball courts, pier fishing, a Farmers Market and Free Live Music Concerts. How wonderful is that?

So…… Please call if I can answer any questions day or night or visit my website with photos of every room and check out my You Tube Video.

I hope you will enjoy your stay and come to think of this as YOUR Home at the Beach.?

At your service,

About Linda Bayles

My name is Linda Bayles. I have been a Reator with Remax in the Jacksonville/St Augustine area ranking in the Top 1% of Agents since 1998.

I work primarily as a Single Agent. There are not many of us out there. Most Realtors work as neutral Transaction Agents. You can googe 'Buyers Agent' to get an overview of the difference. I think it is big. Just ask yourself the question, Would I want the other sides Attorney to represent me too? That's it in a nut shell but the amazing thing is, unlike Attorneys, it does not cost you anything to have your OWN Realtor representing just YOUR interest. We are all paid by the Seller. So .... I would love to help if you are thinking about buying or selling in the area. Just call and I will start sending photos of homes so you can get familiar with the options before you come. Once here just let me know when you are available. We can see about 4 per hour.

And in 2004, I fell in love with St Augustine Beach.

Linda Bayles purchased this house in 2011

Why Linda Bayles chose St. Augustine Beach

In 2005 I walked into a 1926 beach cottage on St Augustine Beach and knew I had found my calling. I wanted to 'Create' a vacation space for Families. Large extended families. A place were Cousins, Grandmothers, Uncles and Aunts can comfortably come together to reconnect and enjoy each other away from the demands of the outside world.

I come from a large family of 5 children as does my husband, Brad. Some of my fondest memories are when we all got together to just 'hang out' for 3 or 4 days. The little ones always come up with a 'play'. The adults always congregate in the Kitchen passing down the 'Family Recipes' to the next generation and playing Games. We are a big Game playing family. Specifically Rummikub . If you have never played, you should. I make sure there is one in each house and once you are hooked and have one of your own, hope you will think of your St Augustine stay every time you play. (Call and I will give you the rules)

So I bought that 1926 Craftsman, gutted it and turned it into The Chautauqua which sleeps 22. It has been a rewarding success.

In 2011, my Father expanded the tradition and bought 4 homes on 3 Oceanfront lots. We could not believe our luck and spent the next year remodeling them into The Seaside Cottages. We just put them on the market in June 2012.

Now we can accommodate up to 35 in one location! Cottage 1 is 5 bedroom 5 bath plus 2 sleeper sofas, 1 daybead and 2 bunks. Cottage 2 is a 2 Bedroom 3 bath plus sleeper sofa. Cottage 3 (here) is a 2 bedroom 2 bath with Sleeper. And Cottage 4 is a 1 bedroom 1.5 bath with Sleeper.

The Best part is not only the houses but the BEACH. There are only 18 streets on the “Best Beach” - No cars. No Catwalk. The ocean right at your door. Everything within walking distance…. And we now have homes on 2 of the them!

I hope you will come stay with us and create memories you will cherish for a lifetime. Then I will consider it a success.

Very nice

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed the property like we did last time. We were very frustrated that the cleaning crew were there until 5pm!!! Bad way to start the trip after a long drive!!! Furnishings, location, & kitchen are great. Master bedroom bed needs to be replaced badly!!!! A/C broke but was fixed the same day!!

Charming Cottage

  • 4 of 5

The cottage was recently upgraded & nicely equipped with quality products. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything one may need! The cottage was very clean & the property was well maintained. The view of the beach from the 2nd floor front porch was SUPER relaxing and peaceful. Management was very responsive during our stay. The BEST place to eat - 'Caps on the Water', hands-down!

If you are looking for the quintessential beachfront cottage, look no further. This little jewel should be featured in COASTAL LIVING MAGAZINE. My wife and I met up with my son and his wife who had flown in from L.A. for a job interview in Jacksonville. We had always wanted to see St. Augustine so we took advantage of the opportunity. What fun we had! This cottage met all of our needs and most of our dreams. It is located on one of the prettiest beaches in North Florida with incredible views. We could sit on the upper terrace and watch our California surfer son ride the waves. The cottage is decorated nicely and is quite comfortable. Downstairs you find the sleeping quarters (two equally nice bedrooms with in-suite bathrooms) and upstairs there is a nice living room, dining area and fully stocked kitchen. The cottage is located in an enclave of four individual cottages with all four staggered in their respective positions. The two smaller cottages are in front and the two larger cottages (including ours) are in back. We had a great view due to the arrangement of the cottages. I will definitely stay here again and cannot say enough good things about Linda, the owner. She is a sweetie and was very helpful and attentive to our needs. All in all, our experience was all that we hoped it would be and more. One last suggestion: if you do stay in this wonderful cottage, make absolutely sure you take the time to dine at CAPPS ON THE WATER. You will think you are dining on the Louisiana Bayou. The setting is without equal and the food is to die for. I am SO glad we took the 30 minute drive to experience it. Pura Vida!

Beautiful and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

No hype in the description! The cottage has beautiful ocean views and it's a short stroll to the beach...great for running/walking (flat). Nearby there are plenty of great places to eat.

The cottage itself is very attractive...modern and clean. It may sound strange, but the most unusual aspect of the cottage is that both full bathrooms are fairly palatial. Of course, you don't spend much time there, but taking a shower is a real experience.

The upstairs living area is large and the appointments are upscale (e.g., kitchen appliances, washer/drier, large flat screen tv). The wifi seems pretty fast as well.

The downstairs bedrooms have comfortable beds and flat screen tvs as well.

This was our second visit to the cottage and on both occasions we've found Linda and her husband to be straightforward and helpful. The other three cottages in the complex offer options for larger groups. (We've been in one of them and it was very nice.)

It's not often that we stay somewhere with nary a complaint, but that's been our experience at Cottage Two. We look forward to returning!
