This charming cottage is just sixty feet from the water and has easy steps leading down to the beach. Moonrise Anchorage is a former artists studio, and is laced with whitewashed post and beam, high ceilings, ample windows, and an eclectic mix of art, collectibles and furnishings. The open plan of combined living, dining and kitchen lends to each capturing the stunning water views outside, along with the lush gardens surrounding the cottage. Downstairs is a small first floor bedroom w/ daybed (can be opened to a king sized trundle) and full bath. Upstairs is a 2 level sleeping area - the lower level with two twins (each with their own closet cabinets) and spacious upper floor with queen bed and window desk. There is also a sleeper sofa (in LR). A large sliding glass door opens to the main floor balcony, which overlooks the harbor, and holds ample flower baskets, plenty of outdoor seating, charcoal grill and an umbrella to provide shade. Located in historic Castine, this cottage easily takes advantage of blend of the culture, history and immense beauty that makes Castine so special. Many of its homes date back to the American Revolution and the streets remain lined with majestic, hundred year old Elm trees. Few towns can boast more in the way of recreation, cultural activities and community services, yet remain so unspoiled by commercial tourism. Amenities include sailing, kayaking, golf, tennis, the Maine Maritime Academy pool and fitness facilities, churches, a library, restaurants, museums, a small grocery store, community hospital and many musical concerts on the Green......all this just a short stroll from Moonrise Anchorage.
