SUNNY IN PARADISE! POOL,SPA,HIKING,BIKING,VIEWS,CASINOS...

We stayed in the home for 2 weeks at the end of July 2012. The house was beautiful, although away from any amenities. There are 4 bedrooms, lovely kitchen with stainless steel appliances and a great deep pool with a small diving board. The children really enjoyed the pool. Air conditioning works well except in master bedroom where it is rather warm at night if you close your door. The owners were out of town so communication was limited, but parents, Debby and Glen, and son, Ian, were very helpful when problems arose. Ian was really nice and offered to help where he could. We had trouble heating the spa, which apparently has been an ongoing problem. The temperature of the pool was lovely in the summer even though it was not heated. We enjoyed the outside upper deck, especially in the morning for breakfast. The outside flat screen TV was not working but Ian came over and replaced it by the end of our first week. Weather was gorgeous, hot every day and sunny with the occasional storm in the evening. Shopping for groceries is within 15 minutes at Fry's. This mall also has a Baskin Robbins, Subway and Pizza Hut. Unfortunately shopping malls and other stores are 40 to 50 minutes away which can become a nuisance driving everywhere. If you are planning to just park yourself and relax bring lots of DVDs as there is a limited selection of channels to choose from on the TVs (1 in master, 1 in family area, 1 outside). There is a TV in another bedroom without cable so you will need DVDs or your own game system. Make sure you bring your own phone, there isn't a phone in the house. For those travelling from outside the United States roaming charges on your cell phone become costly. Make sure you have a GPS to find attractions, shopping, restaurants as directions are not provided at the house. We were concerned about spiders, scorpions, snakes, etc., as we had kids and a little dog. We didn't see any scorpions or snakes, however, lots of spiders were around the pool. My son had a large brown spider by his bed one night, after that we checked our beds before retiring. Our suggestions for improvement would be to increase the lighting in the master bedroom; lighting outside by pool for night swimming, and increase satelite TV stations. Overall we enjoyed the pool, breakfast on the deck, pretty view, lovely master bathroom, Saguaro Park & Tombstone but not the remote location, lack of phone nor worrying about critters. This property is exactly as depicted in the photos. I doubt you will find another property as well equipped for any age or size of family or need.. We were specifically looking for a great pool/hot tub set up. We live in a much cooler climate and were desparate for some pool time and sunshine. That area of the house exceeded our expectations. We are a "slightly" older couple that no longer takes pride in parading around in our bathing suits in public. The privacy of this pool area is beyond compare. The owners were out of town for part of our stay but were quick to respond via cell phone/email. One caution. The home is about 20 miles outside Tucson. We were aware of that and planned accordingly. Especially on your arrival, it would be wise to have the first couple of days of eats and drinks with you. The location is somewhat remote and shopping and quality restaurants or not convienent to the location. If dining out is important to you, be prepared for a 30 minute drive back from the city after dinner. If hanging out by the pool and grill and taking day trips is your thing, this is the place.

We love this house! The house is centrally located for visits to Tucson & Tombstone area. The back deck and pool area were very relaxing with gorgeous views. The hot tub was great after a long day & easy to use. Mike is so personable and helpful & made our stay very pleasant and easy. He had great recommendations for us & was always available for questions. Also, everything you could need is at the house - including laundry detergent & dish soap : ) The garage was a nice plus too! We highly recommend this rental & hope to be back there soon.
