Enjoy our bright, clean and sunny beach house with all the amenities you’ll need for a week or two of summer fun at the beach. Or enjoy a month or a week in the off season. It is located in the heart of Balboa Island, one block from the bay beaches and promenade and only half a block from the historic main street where you will find two blocks of quaint shops, cafes and other amenities including a post office, a small grocery store, and even a Starbucks.

This rental is the downstairs unit of a duplex which has a patio for relaxing and people watching. Upstairs is a 4 bedroom rental unit. Many families rent both units which together can accommodate 14 people with 7 bedrooms (including 2 master suites), 5 bathrooms, 2 kitchens, 2 barbeques, 2 living rooms and an upstairs deck. Both units rent on a weekly basis, from Saturday to Saturday throughout the summer. The 3 bedroom is available on a short term basis year round, either by the week or month.

This downstairs unit has a queen bed master suite with adjoining bathroom with large shower. The second bedroom has a set of twin bed and shares a full tub/shower bathroom with the third bedroom which has a single trundle bed, with a single second bed that rolls out if needed. All the bedrooms and the living room feature furniture by Drexel and Ethan Allen.

Most of our tenants are repeats, coming back year after year for their family vacations. They enjoy our pride of ownership in our well maintained, nicely furnished and spotless beach house. Among our rental agents, it is considered the cleanest house on the island.

This beach house is uniquely situated on a southern corner lot with plenty of sunny windows and ocean breezes. Part of the charm of Balboa Island is the layout of the lots but many of the houses are sandwiched together blocking good light and breezes. If you want to escape the heat of your hometown, our house is your best choice for comfort.

About Nancy Richards

My sister and I grew up in La Habra Heights where our favorite pass time was going to the beach. Now I live in the mountains near Lake Tahoe and my sister lives in Redlands. We enjoy getting together every year for a few weeks at our family beach house on Balboa Island.

Why Nancy Richards chose Balboa Island

My grandmother bought this property around 1930 from her sister who lived a couple blocks away on Apolena. When I was in high school, my parents built the existing duplex and my mother lived there for many years. Now my sister and I are lucky owners and dream of our retirement on the Island someday.

Fantastic Family Vacation Spot

Our family of five stayed at this wonderful property. We loved being close to the quaint downtown and all of the fun shops and great restaurants. We felt very confident letting our older children browse the shops on their own knowing that they were completely safe. The house itself is CLEAN, well maintained and very well appointed with essentials for the kitchen and BBQ. We loved being able to walk to the bay front for swimming, kayaking and playing in the calm water. We also enjoyed the short walk to the ferry to go over to the ocean for boogie boarding. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a fabulous family vacation spot on beautiful Balboa Island.

Great Balboa Island Getaway

We had a wonderful stay for the long holiday weekend. We stayed in the upstairs unit. It has a wonderful view from the front porch of the surrounding area. very easy to access. This is a very comfortable little retreat getaway. Very Comfortable with many things to do in the area. Many many things within walking distance. I would recommend this great little getaway to anyone looking for a nice place to stay, to enjoy a great week or weekend at the beach.
