Life is Always Great (Again!) on Stone Lake - Lakefront Living - Stay Together & Play Together

In our family, vacations are about enjoying life and making wonderful memories- together. Life is too short and quality time to scarce to waste on ordinary experiences. So when we are looking for vacation destinations and four season fun, we say go big or stay home.

Our spacious deck offers the best views of the lake while having breakfast or grilling with the family. Our sandy beach is a stones throw away and fenced in yard makes it safe for both children and pets and ample onsite parking along the property for everyone.

Got Sun?

This fully furnished lake front home is situated with a gorgeous view of the beach and lakefront, open space and shade trees. This property is perfect for a romantic getaway or a large family gathering, with cookouts, campfires and even tent camping by the shore, all while overlooking all sports Stone Lake. Skip stones off the dock and admire the beautiful and historic Cass County Courthouse in the distance across the lake. It's our little piece of heaven.

Got Kids?

Awesome! We do too (Eight - yes really) Kids will go wild (and be out of your hair if need be) swimming and exploring the lakeshore. Are you worried that the kids will whine if it rains because there's no X-Box? (Don't worry we got you covered there too with an X-Box 360, but bring your own games.)

Got Snow?

Book in the winter and ice fish in the annual Stone Lake ice fishing tournament. Got kids or are young at heart, sled down one of our 250' hills or hop over to Swiss Valley Resort 20 minutes (13.77 miles) away to get your ski or snow board on!

Got a Huge Family (Like Us)?

We've got good new for you! We own another property right next door!

Our Stone Lake Family Retreat Home (VRBO 346053) offers 2500 sq. ft of comfortable living space (5BR/4Bath) with lake views, open space and large trees worthy of a state park. This home accommodates 12-14+ guests (More if you want to stick the kids in a tent by the lake shore) and comes complete with DUAL KING MASTER SUITE'S WITH PRIVATE BATHROOMS. One with an authentic jacuzzi two person tub and a private glass sliding walkout to enjoy your coffee while watching the sun come up over the lake.

If the dates are available, rent both properties to host 25-30 guests. Each with stunning views of the entire property. Regardless of whether it's Spring, Summer, Winter, or Fall, there's something for everyone.

Got Boating Needs?

Great! We also have an onsite boating package rental (additional cost) that includes a paddle boat, canoe, AND Pontoon, see rate section for pricing. Please bring your own water toys, etc, there's plenty to do.

Got a Request?

Looking for anything else? Let us know and we'll see what we can do, but please first call to reserve your week of memories you won't forget.

We hope you will come stay with us and experience why 'Life is Great on Stone Lake!'

With much Love and Fun,

Kevin & Kyra Weber

About Booking Inquiries

Growing up in Michigan and Ohio respectively, we have always loved the outdoors and healthy lifesyle that it brings. Life is Great is one of our family motto's (another is no Whining!) and we hope you enjoy our lake home as much as our 8 kids and two grand-kids do.

Booking Inquiries purchased this cottage in 2005

Why Booking Inquiries chose Cassopolis

We bought this Cottage as sister property/guest house to our other listing (VRBO 346053) for our family to enjoy all year around. Not just the views which are truly beautiful and the serenity they bring, but also the large lush lawn and mature trees. Being close to Diamond Lake, Notre Dame, Swiss Valley Ski Resort, Chicago and Detroit doesn't hurt either. :-)

What makes this cottage unique

Combined with our other property we have over 1.5 acres of lawn and 300' of open access lake front, we truly feel we have the best of both worlds, a great house, a large open yard for games and entertainment with mature oak trees, deer who visit and easy access to beautiful Stone Lake. Come winter, we can sled down one of our 250' hills, ice fish or hop over to Swiss Valley 25 minutes away to get our ski or snow board on.

Great Family Gathering

  • 5 of 5

Rented from Kevin, as my son owns another cottage just down the street and we needed Thanksgiving "overflow". Just as advertised. Clean and very functional. Family had a great time. We will rent again.

Great Little Getaway

  • 4 of 5

We had a great and relaxing time here. We came right as the leaves were starting to change and the air starting to cool. The place was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed having a fire in the backyard fire pit and the view of the lake was great to wake up to each morning. It was a great getaway spot for us.

Amazing time!

  • 5 of 5

We showed up with a fairly large group of 25-30 years olds (about 11 of us) and 2 dogs. Everything was clean on arrival and as promised. Deck was huge and fit us all perfectly. The kitchen was full of basic necessities for cooking that we didn't expect to have. And of course... fires on the beach + the awesome pontoon boat made the weekend. A little bit of fishing/ bbq'ing/ swimming (after finding a spot without seaweed) - all a great time. City nearby has all the basic necessities and the organic farm has a fantastic selection of meat! Just be prepared as the incline from the beach to the house is a bit steep but doable. The smokers in the group had to deal with it :) Dealing with the owner and property manager was painless - really nice people! Overall a great time. The much needed weekend escape from Chicago that we hoped for.

Owner's Response: Thanks Macej! We are glad that you had an AMAZING time and we appreciated your patience as we continued to groom the vegetation from our newly expanded sandy beach and kid friendly swimming area. Please come back soon.

Loved It!

  • 5 of 5

I was looking for a lake cottage for my little dog and myself for a couple of days. This cottage was charming and cozy; very clean and comfortable. I didn't use the beach or the boats. It rained the entire time I was there but enjoyed the quiet. The fenced in yard was great for my dog too. I loved the jetted tub! I would stay there again any time!

Owner's Response: Thank you Lisa! We are so happy that you and your four legged family member had a great time (despite the weather not cooperating). We try to continuously add features so that we have something to offer rain or shine. We hope that you will stay again soon and we'll try to get you some sun!

Very disappointing. Boat package was awful. Pontoon didn't arrive until a day later. It was a musty, old, rickety thing. The seating was all torn and the foam stuffing coming out; it didn't have a top so sun blaring down on your head. The floor was torn up. Told that the real pontoon was broken by previous guests and this is what I got If I had known or seen a picture no way I would have agreed to going to this place. It was unfair not to disclose the situation until i was already there and too late to go home. . Of course a day before we leave a spiffy pontoon shows up for the "owners." No discount for the condition of this thing. The lake was filled with weeds and lilly pads. Forget about swimming in it. The home next door, owned by same owner, shares the beach. In our case a family of 12 using the house next door drew a line in the sand and took over our pier. It was the most unwelcoming experience ever. Inside, we were unable to open the kitchen door that leads to the deck cause the screen door was missing. The grill was grimy and hadn't been cleaned for a while so couldn't use that either. The dishwasher didn't do a good job so we hand washed dishes. And the jets from the tub were so filthy that we dared sit in the tub. Seems like quantity and flipping the unit was of greater priority than quality. It has the potential to be much more than it was for the price. Stick with St. Joes.

Owner's Response: To Our Future Guests, We are always looking for ways to improve our guests experiences. A critical part of our efforts towards continuous quality improvement is our sincere desire/appreciation for thoughtful AND helpful guest feedback. As such, we hope that you will please consider our other reviews as a more objective determining factor as you consider staying with us. In response to this review, all I can say is that we know that we may not be able to please everyone no matter how hard we try, particularly if we feel they are looking to get something for nothing. For the sake of brevity, soon after giving this guest a discount (due to a story about their family's hardship) it became very clear that this wasn't the only concession they were looking for. They also wanted the security deposit waived which I politely declined to do. Upon check-out this guest then began complaining loudly to my property manager that the stay was not acceptable and wanted a full refund, threatening to write a terrible review otherwise. When asked what specifically was unacceptable and why would they wait until check-out to share this discontent, the guest declined to elaborate anything. Coincidentally, when asked, their children did tell my property manager they had a great time. Without credible reasoning, we certainly felt a full refund was not warranted. However, upon thorough inspection, we did find the that gas grill needed to be cleaned more carefully and addressed it with our cleaning staff. FOOTNOTE: No good deed goes unpunished. The only reason they were able to use the replacement pontoon (We had just purchased) was with the understanding that while it was safe, it had not yet been "fully cleaned and polished". Ironically, at the time they were thrilled and very thankful that they were able to use it at all. -Lesson learned.

OUTSTANDING summer vacation rental!!!

  • 5 of 5

This is the perfect summer vacation rental! Went up with a group of guys and we had an amazing time. Large kitchen and living room with a huge outdoor wooden deck for relaxing. The grill was very new and worked great. Perfect distance from the beach with plenty of grass and sand for outdoor games. I would recommend this rental to anyone looking for a relaxing weekend on the water!
