This has to be one of the top ten views on Cape Cod! The view covers a beautiful winding estuary, striking sand dunes, Sandy Neck Lighthouse, Barnstable Harbor, and miles beyond! The feeling is a combination of the awe of nature and a special sense of peacefulness.
Inside, the house is spacious, with high ceilings and attractive furnishings. Glass, pottery, carvings and art adorn the interior. The living room ceilings are 18 feet high, a floor to ceiling stone fireplace accents a very spacious contemporary structure. Built in 1976 by a Cape Cod bird carver as an inspiration for his artistic endeavors, this property is privately situated, nestled at the end a short dirt lane the ends at the property. There are three structures on our point of land, two houses and a cottage, all of which are surrounded by over 300 acres of conservation land. The setting is rural, with wildlife and nature dominating the scene. We have a very close view of the osprey nest and there are two additional osprey nests in the woods behind our property. It is hard to capture the feeling in words or a photo, but it is special.
The view goes for 10-20 miles and covers 270 degrees. The first level of view is the salt marsh with the winding estuary, the second level is Cape Cod bay and the sand dunes, and the third level is of Barnstable Harbor and the Sandy Neck lighthouse.
There are three decks, all at different elevations. The upper deck, off the loft bedroom, captures the best view, showcasing the birds in flight, swooping and diving. There is a small army of cottontail rabbits. The sunsets here have nicknamed this area as Cape Cods Sunset Alley. For many of our guests, it is a destination spot and much of their vacation time is spent relaxing at the property or on Grays Beach.
The new Barnstable airport is just 15 minutes away and the Nantucket ferry terminal is also just 15 minutes away. We are a mile and a half north of historic Route 6A. Cape Cod Playhouse is 15 minutes away with summer theater, art exhibitions and the Dennis Cinema showcasing unique movies. 5 star restaurants are within the same distance. Route 6A is well known for antique shops, clam shacks and art galleries. The quaint village of Yarmouth Port has excellent examples of 19th century homes lining Route 6A and showcases classic New England villages along the winding scenic drive.

Experienced Cape Cod travelers know this area as the Chase Garden Marsh. We are north of Route 6A and are located just 18 minutes over the Sagamore Bridge. The boat ramp is 3 minutes walking distance and Grays Beach is the same. The beach is very safe for young children, shallow water and no rip tides. There is a play area for children with swings and there are walking trails everywhere.
We like to call it a place to find yourself again and let the natural flow of life wash the stresses of modern day living away. You will know the minute that you get here, you can feel it. Even though this property is close to civilization, there is a remote feel about it. The backyard is nice and clean, but very natural, spacious and welcoming.
I am also the builder and manager of this property. You can enter Maritime Properties Cape Cod in your search engine to speak to me directly either by phone or email. Thanks for considering my home for your Cape Cod vacation.
