We live in Bar Harbor year round and enjoy as much as we can that this beautiful island has to offer. We XC ski on the carriage trails in the winter, we hike as many mountains as we can and enjoy getting out on the water. We know lots of secret places, great restaurants and have great advice about this area.
Kate purchased this house in 2012
We bought this property because it is next door to our primary home and knew it could be a great investment opportunity for our family. We enjoy our neighborhood so much that we would buy all the houses if we could.
We have renovated Aidaca adding brand new hardwood floors, painting all of the dark knotty pine a cottage white that has really brightened this sweet house. We added a back deck and a sliding glass door to access it. We also put in a dish washer and a washer/dryer so any renter would have all the comforts. We plan on continuing to upgrade each year and welcome suggestions on what guests wish we had.
This house is in a great location. We let our kids run around this safe neighborhood and love that it is quiet by bedtime. We live next door but we do not bother our guests and let them enjoy their vacation. In fact, we are usually off working, hiking, sailing or at traveling somewhere…so you may never see us.
My girlfriends and I stayed in this gem of a house for a week in July. It was the perfect distance from the town of Bar Harbor. We were able to walk to all the restaurants, shops, supermarket, and bus shuttle to Acadia Park in a matter of minutes. The home was clean and maintained well, which is comforting when coming home each day. It was also helpful to have access to a washer and dryer. Hiking and biking in the park lends itself to a lot of dirty clothes. The owners were friendly and helpful with all our inquiries about the town, where to eat, and what to see. When I return to Bar Harbor, I hope to stay in this great little house again!
We enjoyed this newly remodeled three bedroom home. It fit the six of us perfectly. The home was clean and well maintained. The owners were very responsive to our needs and very helpful. The home was about a 1/2 mile from downtown Bar Harbor which we loved. We were able to walk everywhere. The grocery store is very close as well. We would recommend this house and would come back again.
