Pulled up and was horrified to see a hole in the roof....patched up but scary looking, not the best first impression..the house sits among many lovely homes in a nice area with lots of big beautiful trees....next we walk in......hmmmmmm big and spacious.......nice picture window (really needs a good cleaning though) The furniture was disgusting.....what you don't see in the photos.....a filthy off white couch (which we bought a cover for....because we didn't even want to sit on it.....dirt & cigarette holes in some of the chairs....and the priceless loves eat that had cushions from another couch/loveseat that didn't match in color or in size......creepy(what the heck??) Take it out and throw it in the trash!!!! Yuck....we covered most of the furniture with sheets, blankets or towels.....the bar stools in the kitchen are so wobbly you might not want to sit on them and one of them is stashed away in a closet because it was broken already......there is no microwave in the place (they come in handy on occasion.......the silverware in the drawer needed to be washed.....some misc bugs in the dishes......ahhhhhh the floors and bathroom were not bad.. This place could be fabulous with some TLC and a few dollars....OHHH the parking.....OMG we drove around for an hour and 1/2 trying to find a place to park on the street (No onsite Parking) horrible....we burned a lot of gas and patience that nite.....i called and texted our hostess 3 or 4 times for help that night......but i got no answer......I am not a clean freak, and i can't ever remember staying at place where i even needed to call for help or assistance....so what i am telling you is, i am not a person who complains without good reason and i am not a nitpicker.......what i tell you is the honest truth......If there had not been 10 of us......we would have just up and left the place......For Real!! Nuala is nice and has a good personality. Amen!!

Owner's Response: I would like to start off of by saying we have other reviews that are 5 out of 5. And from the moment these guests checked-in, on a hot and muggy day, I could tell everyone was tired and hot from a long drive. Even before seeing the condo, the person who booked requested extra sets of sheets. I said I would provide them, so at that time I knew she had more people staying there than she had stated in the contract. Regarding the furniture, we've never had complaints about the cleanliness or furniture in the unit before. This is a vacation rental, not a time-share, which the guests seemed to think it was. Regarding the parking, the guests called me almost at midnight at the time they arrived back to the unit. Please be aware, we do not offer parking, we do not say that parking comes with the place. We say there is street parking. We are do not offer valet service. On this very night that they stayed in the condo, I had warned them that Sting would be playing a concert at Wrigley Field. We are close enough to be affected by Wrigley parking. Also there booking was in late summer, when it was still warm enough in Chicago to have flyiing insects entering the home. After talking with the woman who booked my condo, but not the person who wrote this review, I found out that the bugs she was talking about were gnats and flies. I cannot help that flying insects when the doors are open. One more thing, the silverware, etc. is checked before after each renter leaves to ensure cleanliness. I just want to say that the woman who booked this did not write this, it was one of her guests.
