We really enjoyed our stay. It already looks like this is our new favorite place to stay. Thank you for helping us celebrate our 18th Anniversary. It was so relaxing for us both. We enjoyed looking at all the memorabila here.
This was our second trip to the farm and the cabin. Once again the owners were friendly, accommodating (the special anniversary decorations were great) and the peaceful surroundings were wonderful. We truly enjoyed staying at the cabin and doing some sightseeing in nearby Wake Forest (We even braved the hot dogs at Shorty's). We enjoyed having breakfast at the cabin, finding local places for lunch and then just relaxing at the cabin for dinner. We watched a couple of DVD's, read, listened to music, fed the fish, the donkey and cows and just enjoyed the peace and quiet. This is a great place to escape the hustle and the bustle of your busy life. We saw turtles, geese, many birds (bluebirds, cardinals, wood peckers) and on our last day there we observed some deer over by the chapel. Da Ja View Farms is now our new anniversary destination and we look forward to having our vow renewal there for our 25th in a couple of years!
If you are looking for a place to relax, get away from it all, and just enjoy nature, this is the place. My husband and I came to Raleigh for a friend's wedding but it turned into a much needed getaway for us thanks to finding this cabin. The owners are so accommodating and welcoming...you feel like family the moment you arrive. And all the extras make it even more special...family history, history of cabin, providing fishing poles/bait, marshmallows for roasting, picnic basket/blanket, wood for bonfire, robes, etc. We enjoyed the rocking chairs on huge covered porch, the private dock for fishing just down the stairs from porch, the complete privacy, and waking up to the sounds of nature. Truly blessed to have found this cabin on the Internet, we absolutely loved it!!!
I know I am echoing what a lot of folks have said already, but this place is so RELAXING. We are just in Chapel Hill, so it's not a far ride up to the cabin, but that Raleigh traffic on a Friday will really stress you out after a busy week. The minute we got into the cabin and shut the door all our cares melted away. I spent the evenings just relaxing on the back porch (bundled up for an unseasonable cold March night), grilling meats, reading, playing scrabble with hubby and warming up by the fire of the chimenea. That Saturday day we had a great time exploring the property, with a mini chapel and "groom room" - a tiny cabin next door with manly decor. We also took time to feed the animals, feed the fish from the dock (they had poles and worms, but I didn't want to get slimy) and even driving to nearby Wake Forest to eat lunch at Shorty's Famous Hot Dogs. But the best part was just relaxing in or own secluded cabin on the water. It's not far from civilization, but it feels like it is, being tucked away at the back of the farm. My husband remarked that the best part was that you pretty much get no cell service or internet access. Everyone should get "off the grid." sometimes. It really makes a huge difference.
Our hosts, Dawn and Jake, have deep roots on the farm that you can feel in the decor and history written in the guest book. We did feel like we were staying with family, only with total privacy. We'll definitely be back!
We needed a break from everyday stresses and wanted an early Valentine's weekend. The cabin was perfect for this. It was so relaxing and I did not want to leave. Loved the chapel and grooms cabin. And we enjoyed fishing a little too. Wonderful weekend! It was just to short!
My husband and I needed a much deserved get away for a few days. Both of our parents are in poor health and we just needed a break. Dawn and Jake the owners are super friendly. There are just not enough words to say how relaxing and beautiful their cabin and the surroundings are. We just loved sitting on the porch, rocking in the chairs, and just looking out across the pond. Each morning we fed the fish and enjoyed all the wildlife. We just loved all the farm animals and especially fell in love with Lu Lu. It was awesome having fresh eggs for breakfast. Thank you Dawn and Jake for sharing your little piece of heaven with us. We will be back.
This place is beautiful.I twas perfect for relaxing & regrouping. Dawn the owner was wonderful and added special touches for my birthday. I will be back to this beautiful, special place.
