Paul and Liz love to hike in the Smokey Mountains. Our last adventure was to Portugal and Spain where we walked the Camino de Santiago.

The view was amazing
Peace and Quiet
We enjoyed our stay at Bear Den South II the first week of December 2012. Your place has a great location with a spectacular view. The whirlpool would be enjoyable anytime of the year, unfortunately we were running all the time, and could not take advantage of it.
It offers so many options in and around the area for example, entertainment, shopping, hiking, biking and horseback riding. In just ten minutes or less you can be at any of the above activities. We had a great stay!
The log cabin exceeded our expectations! The living area and bedrooms were very spacious. Kitchen was very clean. The kitchen ware was in very good condition and clean as well. We never got around to using the hot tub. There is a 1GB limit for the WiFi. It automatically cuts you off when you've reached that amount.
The location is awesome with an equally awesome view. Cabin sits on the side of the mountain looking away from the tourist area. The main strip is less than five minute drive away. We were a little nervous driving up the mountain at night because the road is so narrow.
The only criticism I have, and this is nitpicking, is the difference in temperature between upstairs and downstairs.
I would recommend this cabin to anyone. We would definitely stay here when we come back this way.
We came in for spring break! The cabin is in a perfect location! The view is absolutely amazing! Everything to do is very close! We felt the cabin is located in the perfect area! ALL my kids loved it!! I would recommend this to anyone !! We felt very welcomed "at home " there and super safe!! Thanks for the wonderful stay!!
We stayed here for a week in June and it was great. We were pretty much only at the cabin in the early morning or evenings but it had just about everything we needed. The only downside we encountered were the bathrooms. No fault on the owners part at all but we have a son who is handicapped and had a hard time with the showers. The rest of us had no problems with that so something to keep in mind if it applies to you. Also two of the three bedrooms are on the lower level. Other than that everything was great. Wonderful views, lots of dishes, towels, etc. It is high up on the mountain and the road is narrow. You do have cabins on both sides of you but honestly we didn't really notice. It's so peaceful and quiet. The perfect area for a vacation away from it all. Another note, if you use the upstairs bedroom, you will need to close the curtains at night. On the mountain directly across from your window is a very bright street light or porch light or something, drove my daughter crazy the first night. The owners were great to work with and made the whole process smooth. Look forward to visiting again soon.
Our main reason for the trip was to relax, see the beautiful fall colors and to hike. This cabin and location provided it all! The furnishings were very comfortable and the awesome king bed with flannel sheets felt great on the chilly nights! The kitchen was very well equipped. The view from the deck was spectacular and the surroundings were quiet and peaceful! The location provided easy access to the hiking trails in the Smokies and shopping in Gatlinburg. We enjoyed our weekend and look forward to a return to these beautiful mountains and cabin! Thanks, Liz for providing us with such a great place to stay!
This cabin and the view off it's balcony was worth the 11 hr. drive from Chicago. Not only the cabin was neat and clean, but had everything you need in a home away from home experience. We would definitely come back here again...5 stars all the way
Cabin was beautiful, excellent accommodations. Beautiful view, very well kept. I would recommend it to anyone.
