Good comfortable villa BUT without air con

I rented this villa with another family, at short notice with a resonable discount, so our overall impression was of value for money and generally a good experience. On the plus side, the villa is plenty big enough for two families and the owners were very accommodating, providing 2 extra beds at no extra cost. So slept 12 with ease! The location is excellent and the beach superb. The villa is a short distance from good supermarkets and the airport is only 45 mins away. The villa has a friendly maintenace guy and good cleaning service half way through if booking for two weeks. The villa is finished to a high specification, the photographs do not do it justice since the outside is very attractive and the garden/parking area very spacious. It has wonderful bathrooms and a spacious feel to the bedrooms. I would however mark this villa down on a few things, the most important being NO AIR CON.(there is underfloor heating for the winter!) At our request the owners provided two fans for the five bedrooms which was kind but NOT enough so we bought 3 more ourselves and paid carriage to bring them home. The pool turned all our hair green and our costumes too, and 6 of the 8 children had ear infections which may/maynot be connected to the pool? Lucky for us there was a fantastic 24hr medical centre 3k away in Santanyi. The kitchen had just enough 12 but needs plastic glasses for the pool area (we took our own) and more serving bowls/equipment for self catering,there are not enough plates suitable for cooking in the oven and producing meals for 12 with a small kettle that spits hot water and a selection of mis match crockery is a challenge. To sum up our experience at this villa, I was pleased with the overall quality and value it offered. Another renter provided me with excellent details regarding location, supermarkets, medical centre and my own knowledge of the area meant we ate out at the best restaurants the area has to offer and made the most of the location. The owners may need to consider adding air con and more than 4 sun beds, plus some more teak furniture to make this a top class villa and achieve the full rent they seek. The villa has only been let a little since renovation and I 'm sure all remarks are vauled - (some of the wardrobes have no shelves for t-shits and no hangers either) Weather on the other hand was PERFECT!!!!
