About Jody Landgrebe Owner/Manager

I've lived in the Custer area for 12 years and am a South Dakota native. After living out of state for 18 years, I returned to South Dakota for a more peaceful life.

Jody Landgrebe Owner/Manager purchased this cabin in 2011

Why Jody Landgrebe Owner/Manager chose Custer

I vacationed in the Custer area as a child, and returned to it because I've found the Custer area to be the perfect blend of rustic country living, beautiful scenery and friendly people. The town of Custer has all the shopping, restaurants and entertainment that anyone could possibly need without the frenzy of fast food, Walmarts and traffic that frazzle city folks lives.

What makes this cabin unique

I love this cabin's location, near Custer State Park and Wind Cave National park. Just 1.5 mile east is the back entrance to Wind Cave Park at an area where you can generally find herds of Buffalo and Elk. The cabin itself is very private as it is not visible from the road. Near dusk and dawn you can sometimes see elk at the front of the property near the creek area.

Wonderful March Trip

  • of 5

The cabin is as advertised and Jody is an excellent host. We visited in the offseason and it was awesome. Gone were the swarms of tourists. We had a personal tour of Wind Cave and were part of just a handful of people at Mt. Rushmore. The hikes in the National and State parks had solitude. Amazing! The cabin location is as beautiful as the cabin itself.

Christmas Family reunion

  • of 5

We stayed over Christmas for a week with a family 'reunion' with family coming from several states away. Jody had wonderful Christmas decorations, including a nicely decorated tall tree, which was very much appreciated since we were all coming in late and from different directions. The cabin looked so warm and inviting with the windows all lit up, fireplace on, and tree aglow when we finally arrived. My teenage boys had a great time exploring the woods., as well as the wifi. There was enough room for everyone. We all enjoyed the log cabin and area, and repeated said it would be even better in the summer to enjoy the patio's and pouches without freezing.

We are 7 boys who went to the Sturgis Rally

When we arrive at the House immediately to greet us both deer jumped the road.

The House is very well tidy, new and attended perfectly our needs.

In a really wild place and very nice and close to the nature.

So we have to thank Jody that unfortunately not had the chance to meet in person.

grateful

I would highly recommend this log house! It was MORE than we expected and Jodi was

very friendly and cooperative. The wine basket was an extra touch that we enjoyed. Our family loved the quiet secluded location, no traffic, no noise, and yet the house was close to many of the highlights of the area that we took advantage of. The house was very clean, and well taken care of. It was well stocked with plenty of towels, blankets, pillows plus the kitchen was well stocked with pans, utensils, coffee maker etc. We even found a waffle iron and pancake griddle that we enjoyed for breakfast. The area is so quiet and serene and very peaceful, and we all enjoyed hanging out as a family and grilling and sitting around on the extended deck that had plenty of chairs. We each enjoyed our little private decks on the bedrooms. My only suggestion would be to have chairs on those decks also. Very relaxing and well taken care of log home! We were able to go into Custer for the 4th fireworks which were good. Custer had a nice grocery store about 20 minutes away. We also loved the unique style of the log home and all its furnishings.

Great house in a great location.

The listing was accurate. I wish the ad had more pictures of the basement family room because it was a great space and would help sell the property. We brought the family dog and she loved being off leash as the neighbors were located far away.

Beautiful log home

  • 5 of 5

We love the beautiful log home and the huge logs it was built with. We love the relaxing decks, the beautiful fireplace, the nice and comfortable furniture. We liked that the home had Internet for our college sons to study and the Satillite TVs even though we didn't have time to watch. The kitchen was nice to cook in with pots, pans, etc.. The surroundings looked so pretty just wish we had time to explore. It was nice to have three bathrooms even though the water pressure was low when more than one person would shower in the various bathrooms. We washed all the towels( which was nice to have a great supply of) we used except the ones we used, the morning we left so that was nice to have a washer and dryer. We loved the seclusion and even had a woodpecker as an alarm clock one morning. Thank you Jody for sharing your beautiul home with us. We will come back.
