Seal Cove Cottage is nestled into a lovely, private wooded site that includes a large flower garden and a large patio surrounded by native Maine blueberries. Welcoming, comfortable and peaceful are just some of the adjectives used by our guests to describe their stay. The home has two bedrooms on the upper floor as well as a futon located in the loft space between the bedrooms. The master bedroom has twin closets, a king sized bed and a reading nook for two, overlooking the patio. The second bedroom has two twin beds and a large walk in closet that younger children love to use as their own little 'apartment'!
The first floor of the home includes an open concept layout with living room, fully equipped kitchen, sun room, pantry, full bath room as well as a screened in porch and a wrap around deck.
Other amenities include washer and dryer, dishwasher, fully equipped kitchen with microwave oven, coffee maker, etc, and a flat screen TV with a VHS/DVD player.
We do not allow smoking on the property, nor do we allow pets.
We loved your house and we had everything we needed and more! The kids loved reading your books and in the evening we even watched two of your movies. We enjoyed the quiet here after the traffic on the Island. What a great vacation we had in Maine and what a perfect place for the kids! Thanks for having us!
This is a fabulous property to rent for a tour of Acadia National Park. It is away from the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor on the quiet side of the island in Seal Cove. It is just 20 minutes to get to any place on the island though to hike, bike, Kayak, etc. The cottage is set on a very private lot with amazing landscaping. You are truly out in the woods! The cottage itself is beautiful, spacious and equipped with everything you need. We especially enjoyed the open concept first floor and the screened porch. We ate breakfast on the screened porch every morning and enjoyed the wildlife. The home is full of large windows so you can enjoy the views of the outdoors from every room. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone visiting Acadia. Thank you Rich for a wonderful visit!
This is an excellent location for enjoying Mt. Desert Island. We hiked Beech Mountain and enjoyed wandering on Wonderland and Ship's Harbor trails. The house was extremely comfortable, very clean. Lots of places to sit comfortably and be away from it all. The screened in porch was lovely in the evening to eat dinner and listen to the birds. We were here celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary and couldn't imagine a better place. The bed was comfortable and the house was cozy even on the damp drizzly days where the temperature never got above 50. I would highly recommend this beautiful home to any one.
Our family of six had a wonderful time at this house. Everything was spotless, organized, tasteful, practical, comfortable, very well-equipment. The house offered by far more that we had expected. The booking process was very easy and Richard was great to work with. We forgot a pajama top and a toy of our kids. He sent it back to us in two parcels. This was so attentive and super nice. Our kids enjoyed the books, games and dvds around. There were plenty of towels and the kitchen was had everything you can just wish for. The cottage has many cosy spots where you can read and enjoy the view of the nature around you. Lots of information about the area. The lawn is so well kept and the flower garden so beautiful. We liked our little house on the quiet side of Mount Desert Island. Within 20 min are all the attractions of Acadia National Park. We loved South West Harbor and had ice-cream there every night. The kids loved the books at the little library in this cute town. Thanks so much Richard and Mary for renting your gem to us. We really appreciate all the thoughts and love you put into your house!!!

Puzzles, games.....fans (needed just one day)....etc. The house was as listed.... And then some! Phil and Michele and family
Seal Cove is located on the quiet side of Mount Desert Island, home to Acadia National Park. Seal Cove is ten minutes from Southwest Harbor, and 25 minutes from Bar Harbor.
