HUNT, FISH, RIDE, RELAX, ROMANCE ON A 1350 AC RANCH

Red Feather Lakes Cottage Rental Photos and Description

6 Bedrooms, 5 Baths (Sleeps 14) + Convertible bed(s) 18 total

Only 20 minutes from Ft Collins and Colorado State University. Enjoy either the Guest House or the Main House or both at 7000 feet nestled into the hillside facing Grey Rock Mountain, the Mummy Range and the Roosevelt National Forest.

Eagles Nest Ranch is a working cattle ranch and situated on more than thirteen hundred acres of rolling hills, meadows and rock cliffs with breathtaking views of the Roosevelt National Forest, Grey Rock Mountain and the Mummy Range. The name sake, Eagles Nest Mountain, sits on the west side of the property just a few hundred yards from the main house and promises to provide you with hours of entertainment watching the Eagles soar. The ranch includes the Larimer County Eagles Nest Open Space including more than 755 acres of pristine pasture, miles of horse and walking trails and two miles of the North Fork of the Poudre River.

The final piece of the ranch is the famous Grey Rock Meadow consisting of 160 private acres located on the Poudre Trail at the base of the Grey Rock Mountain in the middle of the National Forest offering access to more than 800,000 acres.

The main house towers three stories with glass from top to bottom with amazing views from every room of Grey Rock and the Mummy Range. The House will accommodate ten comfortably in four bedrooms, a large den and four baths and three stone fire places. Relaxing on either of the decks is a perfect day no matter what the weather. The upper deck extends the entire length of the house (nearly 80 feet) and sits you on top of the world. The lower stone outdoor living space is twice as big and includes a large hot tub and gas fire pit.

The guest cottage includes three bedrooms and one bath and will accommodate six comfortably and has room for eight. Two of the bedrooms have queen size beds and one has bunk beds for two people, but another can be added for two more. The living room and kitchen are situated with views of the National Forest, Grey Rock Mountain and the Mummy Range and include a few of the trophies harvested from the property. The home is built from heavy timber and has a large stone wood burning fireplace in the living room.

The deck extends the entire width of the cottage and overlooks the riding arena, a valley, the cliff leading to the river and Grey Rock in the distance.

There are multiple pastures, a stable and outdoor riding arena if you would like to bring horses. The main ranch and Open Space have miles of riding trails. Unfortunately, our horses are all working horses and not for rent. ATV's are welcome on the main ranch on the trails and roads. If you are a real hiker, you may want to hike the Poudre Trail all the way to the top of Grey Rock Mountain and camp the night in your private Meadow at the base of the mountain. Or; hike down to the North Fork of the Poudre for fishing and dinner.

The ranch manager lives on the property on the north end and is available for emergencies and information about the ranch and the area.

Come stay with us for the experience of a lifetime.

Guestbook comments from the owner
Dear Jeff and Janeen,

Thanks for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home in July. We enjoyed the comfortable accomodations and the grand views. The layout was great for our stay. We spent a lot of our time on the outside deck enjoying the vista and watching a storm come in. Our grandnephew really loved the horses. They were so friendly. Lisa, your property manager was very accomodating.

We did not see they gate codes in the welcome book due to the layout so you might want to make that a little clearer to guests as we had to call Lisa late when we came in after the wedding.

Thanks for the grand vacation.!

Mark and Yvonne

SO CAL SELECT SOFTBALL

  • 5 of 5
Most of our softball team stayed on the ranch during the Colorado Sparklers Tournament! It was a great experience, and the girls were able to spend quality time together running on the trails, BBQing, playing Just Dance on the Wii, watching movies, practicing shooting off the back deck, hot-tubbing, petting the horses, and just taking in the beauty of the ranch experience.
Ellie and Rob are extremely attentive and helpful. I would definitely stay there again.:)

LIVING THE DREAM!

  • 5 of 5
Our stay at the ranch was absolutely perfect. We were a group of 16 collegiate cyclists on our spring break training trip. Both houses fit all of us very comfortably and were well stocked with anything you could ever need. Ellie was so helpful and gave us a tour and all of the information we needed right when we arrived. She even met all of our cars at the general store and led us up to the ranch! She was able to answer any type of question and knew all about things to do in Fort Collins. We woke up and cooked breakfast in the well-stocked kitchen and enjoyed our meals in front of the wood fireplace. The wooden deck was perfect for sitting outside and appreciating the nature that we were immersed in. This ranch was especially perfect for a group of athletes, as we could go on scenic runs and hikes right from the backyard and the nearby roads were perfect for road cyclists. We were so grateful for our stay and the many memories we made at Eagles Nest. The only complaints we had were that we really did not want to leave. St. Olaf Cycling 100% approves of this ranch. We already have requests from our team to head back to the ranch next year!

THIS PLACE WAS GREAT.

  • 5 of 5
Myself and 8 coworkers spent a week at the ranch working. It was a great place to buckle down and get work done without distractions. We hiked from the ranch on a daily basis during breaks. The amenities were great and we will come back in the future.

JEFF HOLTZ

  • 5 of 5
A few guys and I stayed this past weekend. We had a blast. With two houses, a barn and a great deck there was plenty to be happy about. Everything was clean and well cared for, and there was everything in the kitchen that we could ask for, even when feeding 15. Chuck and the Weilers made everything easy. Thanks for a great stay.
