3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 6 people, Guest cottage for 2 people is optional

The House is ideally located within walking distance to the Bear Cafe, the Little Bear Cafe and the Cub Market. It is also walking distance to the Bearsville Theater. The house is 2 miles to the village green (center of Woodstock), so private but so close. Located on 2 1/2 acres of woodland with private driveway. The house is 1800 square feet with lots of windows throughout, all the better to see the bright red Japanese maple trees in the fall. The eat in kitchen is fully equip and leads into the dining room. The dining room has vaulted ceilings, stone fireplace, six comfortable chairs and long country table. The living room has big lighting, acoustic design, 18ft ceilings,, collection cabinets, 70' flat screen with cable and Netflix . The house has WiFi.

Sit outside on the stone patio and grill or walk to one of the Bearsville restaurants. The house is great for just 2, or up to 6 to relax, a getaway for friends, skiers, hikers, family gathering or just for fun.

About Owner, manager

I grew up in New Your City and Woodstock and went to Berkeley School of Music. As a record producer I worked with Ronnie Spector, Tracy Chapman, Bon Jovi as some of the artists and most major record labels. I moved back to Woodstock where I now live

Owner, manager purchased this estate in 2003
Why Owner, manager chose Woodstock

I chose this house because of its structure and location. Its 2 1/2 acres of wooded land are wonderful and peaceful. There is something about the feeling the house gives me, the county fireplace with a cool look. There had been a lot of thought in the making of this house.

What makes this estate unique

The large maple trees in the fall are fire red, the the large tulip trees are clouds of light purple in the spring, the location....I ski so being 30 minutes from great skiing and and a few minutes from excellent dinning and a house that can fun or just low key.

Escape from Sandy

We were looking for a getaway from the Sandy Storm aftermath at the Jersey shore and we found it. We wanted to ski and explore new areas of the Catskills. We loved the "in the woods" feel but with close proximity to town. The market around corner was great and the Bear Cafe delish-- the Theatre a blast of a dance party for Pisces party. We had friends rent the cabin and skiied 2 days. Total blast. Michael is a gracious host and excellent to work with :) just what we needed!

Perfect Woodstock Experience

I came up to Woodstock with a film in the festival. I wasn't planning on spending a lot of time in my accommodations so convenience was the most important factor. That said, I also didn't want to stay in a dump. I wanted an easy Woodstock experience and a lasting memory and this spacious, beautiful, conveniently located house was absolutely perfect. From the high ceilings to the wide plank floors the house moe than lived up to the photos online and made for an incredible trip. My favorite touch was the old record player in the upstairs bedroom which felt like the perfect way to wake up in Woodstock. My only criticism was the upstairs bathroom, which isn't quite as nice as the rest of the house, although it is perfectly functional. I would highly recommend this house.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Romantic Getaway

Had a great experience at the Bear House! Wonderful location, close to Bear Cafe and Woodstock but also on a private road for a nice intimate experience. House was in great shape with all new amenities and tastefully decorated.
