As you plan your trip to the mountains, please remember we do get rain, snow and some foggy days and occasional inconveniences which are out of our control. Winter weather in the Blue Ridge Mountains can occur from November through April. The majority of our homes are accessed by mountain roads, which will be icy in winter weather. For the safety of you and your party, please be prepared to drive in snow and ice. This means 4-wheel drive, good tires, and chains. It is your responsibility to be prepared for hazardous road conditions. There will be NO refunds, allowances, or date changes resulting from your negligence in this matter.
Our extended family has stayed here twice now, we love the bedrooms, decor, the large dining table, deck with chairs, view of mtns, hot tub, and fully-stocked kitchen. Driveway can be challenging, but it is manageable. Great for our dogs who had a fenced yard and enclosed deck. Kids loved it, too. We have some wonderful group photos, and after staying in another house once, we came back here! Hope we can return next Fall!
My family and relatives from Georgia had a wonderful time relaxing and bonding in this comfortable cabin. We all kept busy with games and videos on the rainy days and had a great trout dinner after fishing at Grandfather Mountain Trout Fishing and Gem Mining. The driveway was quite challenging to navigate, but we all managed and the management company said they were going to do additional work to it. Overall we had a great time.
On our way to and from Banner Elk we went through Mountain City and had amazing meals at The Soda Shoppe. All homemade food that was so good we bought a jar of the barbecue sauce to take home. Stop in if you go through that area.
