Our stay at the Villa was very enjoyable and I would recommend the property to anyone wishing to stay in a very quiet location within driving distance of Istria's highlights. The property was exactly as described and was clean and well maintained. The owner provided great customer service by answering all of my questions in a timely fashion and providing details about the surrounding area. A car is definitely required when staying at the Villa as it is located in a very small village with no amenities within walking distance.

We had a wonderful week staying at this lovely peaceful villa with our 2 sons and their wives. We all found the villa comfortable and loved the outside sitting area too, whether by day or evening.Having a car is essential in order to visit what is on offer in the region. We would recommend Vrsar for a small and picturesque coastal visit locally, and a little further away, the stunningly beautiful Rovinj with its narrow streets and alleyways....especially picturesque when viewed from a boat as you leave or approach by it by sea. One couple enjoyed a swimming area outside Porec but NB wear water shoes because of sea urchin "thorns" - they ignored the advice and paid the price! The same couple hired bikes but the hills and heat were a tough challenge. Motovun is lovely and the views approaching it and from the top make it worth the drive. Groznjan is wonderful and we were fortunate enough to visit it during the International Music Festival. Be prepared to be tempted to buy some unusual pottery! Take Carmen's advice and eat at Konoba Didi at Tinjan....go for the far table on the terrace at the back and enjoy a lovely summer evening there, looking out into the beautiful wooded and hilly Istrian interior.......hardly a light to be seen in the dark. But watch out for the host's grappa - it is lethal! On the villa terrace at night there is absolutely no light pollution as the countryside is so scarcely populated and the sky is stunning.........lie back and just gaze at it.....awesome! Viking restaurant is well worth the visit if you are fish enthusiasts but we would recommend booking if you want an outside table during the popular tourist season (number in a booklet at the villa which we left behind.) The fjord is picturesque and you can take a 2 hour trip from Vrsar - enjoyable but not amazing. It is worth reading about the history of Istria in Lonely Planet or other such guides, in advance of your holiday, together with their info on places to see, things to do, and what to eat. Carmen is an excellent owner and is helpful in every respect. She also arranged for one of our couples to receive flowers and wine on their wedding anniversary, which was pretty impressive. One warning - Croatian barbecue coals are inferior to what is on offer in UK and getting the thing going was something of a trial so allow plenty of time for that! Perhaps we were inept but we blame the materials! Altogether it was a very special holiday in an altogether lovely place.
