Charming 1940's Bungalow located on Rt. 9. Ride your bike to Kennebunk Beach (1 mile) or Parsons Beach (1 mile). The bungalow is decorated in tranquil colors of the sea with all new tasteful yet relaxed furnishings throughout. The upstairs has been completely gutted and remodeled including hand scraped oak hardwood floors. The kitchen has Jenn Air appliances, gourmet oils/spices, IPOD docking station with speakers and is well stocked for all your cooking needs. Wireless Internet included. The cozy living room has a flat screen TV and DVD player. Cable & DVDS. Dinning room seats 6. Bedroom #1 has a new queen memory foam bed, 2nd bedroom has a pillow top queen bed with ceiling fan and cathedral ceiling. 3rd bedroom has 2 twin beds and a flat screen TV/DVD player and IPOD/IPHONE docking station. The front enclosed porch has a seating area. There also is an outside seating area in the shaded back yard with a gas grill. Plush linens/towels, beach chairs, cooler, books, games all provided.

“The Kennebunks” are a lovely place to experience a southern coast of Maine retreat. It offers 4 beautiful - sandy beaches all within 1 mile, sailing, whale watching, guided kayak tours and 2 golf courses.

Dock Square is 2.5 miles away and has many lovely, shops and restaurants.

The Bridal Path is 1/4 mile from the bungalow and is great for walking, running and biking. Also walk the Franciscan Monastery Trail along the river or Parsons Way along the ocean and see Walker's Point, former President Bush's estate.

The Rachel Carson Wildlife Refuge is a great place to explore local wildlife, birdwatch or go fishing. It is about 2 miles from the bungalow.

There are wonderful restaurants for every palate from 5 star dinning to lobster rolls and ice cream for dessert.

Browse the many antique shops or enjoy the theater at the Ogunquit Play House.

The bungalow has wireless internet.

Help yourself to the potted herbs at the house to season the day's catch!

Portsmouth (30 miles) is also a seaport town with similar charm.

Portland(30 miles) another great seaport town.

Freeport (30 miles) has great outlet shopping.

Kittery(25 miles) more outlet shopping.

Boston is 1 1/2 hour away.

Fantastic House, Close to Everything

We found this property looking for a home rental near beaches in Kennebunk/Kennebunkport area. We read that the house was undergoing renovations and through conversations with Karen decided to rent the house for a week. From the first conversation with Karen to meeting her and Michael on the day we arrived, we couldn't have asked for a better experience. When we arrived there was a welcome message on the chalk board, music playing, a welcome gift, and a welcoming environment.
We would go to Parson's Beach each day and it took us less than 3 minutes by car to get there. Kennebunkport took about 10 minutes (longer on busy days) but such an easy drive. House is in a great location and never far from a number of attractions.
Karen and Michael did a great job with the renovations. From the front porch to the living area, dining area, kitchen and bathrooms there is nothing more to ask for! The decor is so charming and modern and well-thought out we knew we had picked the right house for our stay. Karen and Michael provided beach bags and maps which we used. There is a DVD player and movies and if the movies there aren't enough, there are plenty of RedBoxes in the area. There is no cable, so you do want to be aware of that, but there is WiFi so you can access TV that way. You will also want to have your own connections for computer to TV if you would like to use the computer that way.
There is a slight issue with the shower; there isn't enough shower curtain to really prevent water from spilling out.
There are plenty of fans so the house never got hot during our summer stay.
If you are looking for a modern, updated house with all the conveniences of home (except for cable) this is a great option. So glad we chose this place and would recommend it to anyone.

A GEM OF A HOUSE IN A TERRIFIC LOCATION!

In 20 years of renting summer cottages in New England we have never loved a house as much as this one! Cozy, warm, charming, with a chef's kitchen, extremely comfy beds and quality furniture, gorgeous decoration and attention to detail... Karen and Michael did an amazing job at creating this home away from home, which we were fortunate enough to enjoy for one full month! And they were also very helpful, accepting to accomodate some special "needs" we had for our longer stay... Location is "plus-que-parfait": so close to Parson's and the lovely Kennebunk beaches; close to all the exquisite restaurants and lovely shops of the lower village (try Grissini's, Old Vines, Bandaloops, Local 50 downtown and On the Marsh). The location also provided us with an easy access to the boat launches at the Mousam and the Kennebunk rivers (great for kayaking) and there were many options for bicycling right from home, with a lot of quiet streets lined with trees and gorgeous Victorian houses. Actually, there are so many nice things to do right at the doorstep: looking for antiques, visiting art galleries, buying food directly from the producers at the farmers' market, walking the Bridal path, and so on! We hope to be back next year for another exquisite holiday in "the Kennebunks"! Thanks a lot Michael and Karen!

A Wonderful Cottage!

Karen B. is currently renovating and decorating this cottage, and I am writing to share my experiences with her as a rental property owner in Wolfeboro, NH ( my house is Homeaway property number 119654). I know it is a leap of faith to consider renting a place with no rental history or pictures yet! Karen has helped me with my summer home in Wolfeboro for the last five years, and has been a key partner in it's success as a rental home. Karen has helped with my beautiful landscaping and gardens, and each week ensures that my house is spotless and welcoming for renters- leaving flowers, fluffing pillows, mowing the grass- whatever it takes! She has given me great advice on decorating, and I am sure her own decor in this house will be a blend of antiques and comfortable contemporary furniture. She is honest and conscientious, and I know will be a wonderful host to all of her vacationers. I can't wait to see the results of her renovation- I know this house will be delightful!
