Perfect Retreat

As an author with deadlines, I'm often in need of a little break from the hustle and bustle to get some words on the page. I couldn't have chosen a better cabin for a retreat, and Matt was an absolute dream to work with.
The property is a perfect mix of four-star hotel and country getaway. You can enjoy all the extras like plentiful towels, high-quality mattresses, high speed internet that's a cinch to use, and a variety of good music stations available through the cable TV. But instead of a hotel's busy lobby and crowded elevators, you get all the luxury in the comfort of a secluded cabin in a beautiful setting.
I travel quite a bit, and I can easily say I've never stayed in a cleaner or more comfortably furnished rental home. The upkeep of the cabin, both inside and out, is impeccable, with lots of little creature comforts like good dishes and knives, a deck of cards in the kitchen, and even a spaceheater to keep the lower level every bit as toasty as you want it.
My favorite thing about the cabin was the three-way fireplace which is as easy to use as flipping a lightswitch (literally! It's operated by a lightswitch-type panel!). Though our visit was in the winter, I'll definitely be back for the summer. Even in February, we saw deer and loads of beautiful birds, and we didn't step foot outside the cabin! And I wish it had been warmer, because the deck is HUGE and would be perfect for a breakfast overlooking the pond.
This really is the perfect location for a retreat, whether it be a couple's weekend away, a writing retreat like mine, or even a spiritual retreat. I've frequented Hocking Hills for more than twenty years, and I can honestly say I'll always put this cabin at the absolute top of my rental list.
